The Ashes 2025/26
By: TA_Ref Date: November 21, 2025, 4:54 am

Having woken naturally at 6am this morning it was a no-brainer
to turn on the Ashes this morning and its fair to say we were
treated to an absolute clinic of fast bowling and express pace.
I think every day and every session is going to be a talking
point so I thought Id open a thread for this series if anyone
wants to have their say on the days play.
But what a start to the series today. Waking up and seeing
England all out for 172, it felt a classic case of deja vu down
under but what an amazing spell from our seamers to get
Australia to 123-9. Only day 1 and the first test is well in the
balance.

2 tests in and no umpiring controversy so well done to them.
What isnt controversial is how England's management have managed
to get away with delivering a plan such as this. Bazball is all
well and good against lesser nations but has been found to be
completely incompetent when it comes to hard nations away from
home. Woeful batting (not helped by 3 batsmen being out of their
depth) and god awful bowling, and a spinner who is primarily a
batsman.
I went against all the media hype prior to the series and knew
we would be completely outclassed and proven to be the case. 3
tests left to salage some pride but England in general are too
arrogant to admit they have got it completely wrong! :-X

My M-I-L made the point on the weekend, that we're only two
England batting collapses away from Christmas.
And it's hard to see past that tbh [emoji23]

Poor lbw decision today by Raza, giving Weatherald out, a ball
pitching leg stump. Poor of the Australians not to have reviewed
it too.

Havent seen much of the series due to work but decided to stick
it out a bit tonight. Wow of wow the commentary team from TNT
are simply dreadful. So, so dull

Who on earth decided to prepare that green top in the fourth
test?!
Twenty wickets on the first day is mind blowing.

Unsurprisingly the pitch has been rated substandard in Melbourne
and one demerit point only issued.
