My point is that we should be able to express our personal
opinion regarding individual performances and appointments. The
vast majority of my own posts support and praise match officials
in particular Josh Smith and David Webb for their performances
this season and a number of previous seasons, I have praised
those progressing in the Premier League in particular
Jones,Brooks and Gillett and I have constantly praised the
impressive potential of Hallam, Smith and Kirk coming through.
Yet the minute anything untowards is written about Gill or
Allison the post is removed. This is not personal it is opinion
and one shared by many others. They have both committed error
after error and have not justified their appointments at the top
level when given them. The site is called RateTheRef for a
reason.

Although I don't know what happened to your post or what was
said. Maybe, just maybe you're stepping out of line. I would
encourage you to take a step back before you post and asked
yourself, is this necessary. In the last 2 months alone,
majority of the Referees in the PL, Championship and FL have
received a negative review or two but what you seems to do, is
focus on two individuals. It seems you have a personal agenda
rather than "RatetheRef" as you stated. What made me come to
this conclusion is the fact that one of these two Referees have
not officiate for two months.
Just relax...

A complementary reference has been made to Bell on this thread,
but which one? I watched Elliot Bell last night in a fiesty
game, Salford v Doncaster, and couldn't be sure about him. Looks
the part but 2 goals were disallowed, a red card issued (2
yellows correctly given), and a few (5) other yellows which were
"questionable" according to some. I think these observers
struggle to understand how several physical challenges aren't
yellow, yet a simple pull back is. Of course, the former is
descretionay, the latter mandatory. Bell tried to let the game
flow but there was one tackle which was definitely orange but to
his credit he gave himself time to reflect on it.
It was a tough gig and the Doncaster manager got quite worked up
earning a yellow. My question is, as there are 2 Bells, is in
folk's opinion James Bell the better referee or is it Elliot?

That was in regards to waiting for an SG2 promotion, James is
already there but I should have been clear I was referring to
Elliot.
Ive not seen Elliot myself but hes got some good games and
seems to be making rapid progression along with Farai Hallam and
Ruebyn Ricardo out of the 1st year National List referees.
I only caught yesterdays highlights and would agree the 2
disallowed goals are questionable at least. The Doncaster one I
dont think is a foul and as for the Salford one, I cant see
any foul but its not a great broadcast angle. Salford players
also dont seem to appeal too much against the decision.

aaa.I am totally relaxed thank-you as I respect all views on
this site even if I dont agree with them. As for having an
agenda against Sunny Gill you could not be further from the
truth .I just do not think he deserved his appointment when he
received itsimple. I dont rate Neild or Doughty but do not
have a agenda against them its just my opinion. David Webb is
undoubtedly the top referee inSG2 this season so why does he get
the Big Crunch games but not a premier league fixture? Why does
kitchen not get the top 3 when they play each other but does get
a premier league appointment? No agenda against kitchen but he
is clearly not the top ranked official.again no agendajust a
valid opinion.

But to be fair, he has had Blackburn v Burnley, Preston v
Burnley and Sheffield Wednesday v Sheffield United, which are
arguably similarly testing fixtures to those between the top
three.
I would hazard a guess that no referee has had Blackburn v
Burnley and Sheffield Wednesday v Sheffield United in the same
season before.
