M OLIVER - Germany v Denmark

I thought it was an excellent decision to disallow the goal
after Kimmich had blocked off a Danish defender in pursuit of
Schlotterbeck.
As for Ally McCoist, the sooner he is pensioned off from our
screens the better. What utter tripe he talks.

Excellent refereeing. Very deliberate blocking action on the
defender in an impactful area. Quick confirmation from VAR too.

On the latter point - thats harsh. The live TV coverage
immediately cut from the penalty area to follow the goalscorer -
no one watching on TV knew the goal had been disallowed (unless
you were also able to spot Michaels body language which wasnt
consistent with a goal being awarded) until the Danes were
taking the FK.
With that context, and if you didnt see the block, then
attention would be on the goalscorer where clearly no foul
occurred. He got it wrong, but he (and indeed everyone else)
hadnt seen the block at that point.
Oliver having a great game - and the three ITV pundits are miles
ahead of many of their peers.

For whats its worth he did also apologise and admit he was wrong
and that Oliver had made the correct decision.

And Ally has even apologised now for his error, which I would
suggest means such remarks made on her may now be hastily taken
back....

Very good Oliver in the first half. Rosetti must convince
himself that he is a top player.

As an aside - how many VAR interventions has Michael had this
tournament?
In other views - leave the snickometer nonsense to Test Match
Cricket
