|
Ian Robert Cathcart, a prominent referee in the Scottish League |
|
in the 1980s and 90s, died on 27th March 2024 in Portugal, aged |
|
73. Ian was a practising G.P. throughout his refereeing career |
|
based in Bridge of Allan, near Stirling. A native of Glasgow, he |
|
was educated at Hillhead High School and Glasgow University. As |
|
a referee he adopted a low key approach, seldom courting |
|
controversy, and was well liked and respected by players and |
|
club officials. |
