French Police and UEFA
By: jacksamuel21 Date: May 29, 2022, 5:22 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Appalling organisation from the French Police and UEFA. Sending
20,000 Liverpool fans down a small ally as they had blocked off
most of it with police vans- causing a crush. Then locking the
turnstiles for no reason and then deciding that firing tear gas
because a few French gangs tried to force their way in.
During the final minutes French Riot police lined up in front of
the Liverpool fans but none appeared at the Madrid end.
Liverpool fans where tear gassed while leaving and attacked by
French gangs while the Police watched.
Police at the fan parks where attacking people as well for no
apparent reason.
The French need to sort their police out and its becoming an
issue for UEFA after the Euros and Now This.

I think we all need to be very careful in our assessment and not
jump to premature conclusions her. Mobile phone footage doing
the rounds clearly shows Liverpool fans without tickets climbing
over barriers, dodging stewards and getting in, totally
appalling; on the other hand someone from Mersey police is
claiming Liverpool fans behaved impeccably. Who do we believe? I
have seen reports that the French police were too heavy handed
but also reports that their actions could have prevented scenes
similar to Heysel and even Hillsborough.
UEFA need to sort it out I agree but for Liverpool fans to claim
it was all someone elses fault and not theirs in part would
seem groundless. The evidence would suggest otherwise.
Lets keep this in perspective until all the facts are out
there.

The SKY news reporter sums it up perfectly. I have been to the
Stade De France and the used the entrance Liverpool fans used.
The fence the are climbing over is to avoid the crush caused by
the bottleneck created by French police. The fans climbing into
the stadium are local french gangs- according to Sky and many
other journalists and supporters. French police attacked
Liverpool supporters and closed gates preventing fans with
tickets getting in.

Funny how none of this seemed to happen with real madrid fans.
as has been said above, the videos doing the rounds don't show
liverpool fans to be totally blameless.

Fair enough if thats the case, it does seem like a lot of poor
organisation was the issue as well, I'm just still not willing
to render liverpool fans totally innocent.

And now the French Minister is coming out with fake stats to
blame all the supporters and is praising the french police and
staff for their organisation. What a joke. He also comments how
trouble is only with the English teams, he obviously wasn't
watching St Etienne last night.

And as said before one could equally argue the PM, Mersey Police
and English F A blaming the French police and authorities,
painting Liverpool as being whiter than white and laying no
blame at the door of Liverpool fans is also a joke.
A proper investigation is needed but all I would add is that,
once again as in previous incidents, it never seems to be
Liverpools fault, always everyone elses.

Almost certainly there will have been faults on all sides, but
so much claim and counterclaim does not help clarify the
situation. Hopefully the independent investigation will be just
that, independent.
Which said it does seem in poor taste for Liverpool to arrange a
bus top celebratory tour on the anniversary of the Heysel
disaster.

There's no smoke without fire, and absolutely no doubt that
there were lots of Liverpool fans there without tickets.
There's also a video of Liverpool fans mounting a violent and
totally unprovoked attack on a Madrid supporter. I don't
understand why clubs encourage ticketless fans to travel, it is
asking for trouble.
No doubt the French authorities made a mess of it as well, as
almost always in these things multiple parties are at fault.
