| Please contribute to this work by posting information you have | |
| about this subject. Your contributions will help make more | |
| information available for more students like yourself. | |
| This information is incomplete, and should not be used for | |
| reference material. It should be continuously refined until it | |
| is no longer under work. | |
| Signs | |
| There are eight signs for a student of the Academy. The sign is | |
| chosen by the student, initially. But over time a different sign | |
| may choose to embrace the student. Although temporary symbols | |
| may exist, one symbol stays with a student at all times, which | |
| is the students true sign. Temporary signs are less important. | |
| Secondary signs are signs that also influence the student, but | |
| less obviously... those who live around the student will notice | |
| the secondary sign, while others will likely not notice it as | |
| much. | |
| The Ancestor | |
| Symbol: Heart | |
| Titles: Healer of the world, peace bringer, courier of love, | |
| mother of time | |
| Astrological symbol / Time: Crescent / Waning Moon (mid morning) | |
| Chakra: Sacral | |
| Element (of the four): Earth / Water | |
| Color: Garnet Orange / Mahogany | |
| Positive Totem: Rabbit | |
| Qualities: Love, nurturing, speed | |
| Needs love, security and nurturing environment. | |
| Negative Totem: Siren | |
| Flaws: Lust, self-indulgence, greed, envy, corruption | |
| Is the symbol of temptation, selfish desires and hidden wishes. | |
| This sign is the typical mother, parent figure, team leader or | |
| support figure. They understand the importance of love, the | |
| significance of the beginning of things, the appreciation of the | |
| positive aspects and the caring of those important to ones self. | |
| In his/her life fighting against ones own self and ones own | |
| nature will be the greatest difficulty, but the greatest | |
| triumph. Victory will taste sweetest for this sign. The Ancestor | |
| and the Guardian have similar troubles and can sympathize with | |
| each other easily. However a self destructive vicious cycle may | |
| follow if they both are consumed by their own temptations. It is | |
| best if they have at least one other person with a different | |
| primary sign (especially Mentor or Gatekeeper) there to help | |
| remind them of the importance of reason. | |
| The Guardian | |
| Symbol: Circle | |
| Titles: Communion with the infinite, vision of the all, highest | |
| honor, time itself | |
| Astrological symbol / Time: Full Moon (mid afternoon) | |
| Chakra: Root | |
| Element (of the four): Earth / Fire | |
| Color: Blood Red / Carmine | |
| Positive Totem: Gryphon | |
| Qualities: Speed, strength, protective | |
| Needs safe environment for rest, needs something to protect. | |
| Negative Totem: Tiger | |
| Flaws: Vengeful, power, brutality, pride, envy | |
| Is the symbol of power used for personal, selfish gain; betrayal | |
| and ferocity. | |
| This sign is a typical older brother; protective, loving, but | |
| very self-centered. They are over-achievers, which can be used | |
| against them. Although their responsibilities are great, they | |
| are often exaggerated due to the immense pressure they come to | |
| endure after so long. The legend of Atlas is a story they have a | |
| familiarity with, and one which resounds in their very core; do | |
| not mention this legend to them if possible, as it brings sorrow | |
| to their hearts. They do not need reminding of their burden; | |
| give them a moment to rest, just as Heracles did to Atlas, and | |
| they will be refreshed. Although they carry a great burden, if | |
| they carry it out with diligence their burden will be lifted | |
| after this life (not necessarily the next; give them comfort and | |
| support, and they will grow the most nourish them tenderly). | |
| To overcome their greatest challenge, they must walk the middle | |
| path; straying from it leads towards suffering for those around | |
| them and especially themselves. Moderation is the lesson needed. | |
| Do not remind them of this; they know it, and doing it is their | |
| challenge, not yours. They will help carry your burden, even if | |
| you don't ask it of them; just let them do what they need to do | |
| in this life. | |
| The Guide | |
| Symbol: Lotus | |
| Titles: Guardian of life, love of all things, pinnacle in time, | |
| dawn of time | |
| Astrological symbol / Time: Dawning Sun (early morning / dawn) | |
| Chakra: Heart | |
| Element (of the four): Water / Earth | |
| Color: Imperial Jade | |
| Positive Totem: Wolf | |
| Qualities: Protective, wild/natural, nurturing | |
| Needs freedom, natural environment, needs something to protect. | |
| Negative Totem: Rat | |
| Flaws: Parasitic behavior, concealed danger, treachery, greed, | |
| envy | |
| Is the symbol of a traitor, destruction that comes from within, | |
| which leads to dissent. | |
| This sign is blessed; they can mold the future generations in | |
| their hands. They are the great mentors, they guides of the | |
| young. They have an innate need to be heard, and they thrive on | |
| attention and compliments. Their love of life is incredible, and | |
| is not dedicated towards any particular aspect of it. Unlike the | |
| Ancestor sign which loves nurturing and caring as their main | |
| focus, a guide is always learning that life is so much more than | |
| just a single aspect of bliss. This is why they are fit to | |
| teach; the guide takes time to blossom, and must become a guide; | |
| the sign before this is the secondary one, as a true Guide sign | |
| will just be dormant (in preparation for the grand blossoming of | |
| the lotus). | |
| Their negative totem is weak, and all needed to overcome it is | |
| to find an ideal to follow. People will fail, causes will be | |
| corrupted, but an ideal is immortal and infallible. When (and | |
| never if) they find an ideal to follow, loyalty will guide | |
| them and bring out their very best. Sadly, as their negative | |
| totem is the weakest, their own potential is limited; however | |
| they can bring out the full potential of others, if they nurture | |
| them properly. Undying loyalty is the challenge and reward of | |
| the Guide, which is an ill twist of fate. Their own enthusiasm, | |
| energy and interests sway, and their loyalty will wither too; | |
| only through deep bonds of friendship, family and love will | |
| remain once a Guide's interests have shifted. | |
| The Librarian | |
| Symbol: Pillar | |
| Titles: Savior to those in need, sculptor of legends, nurturer | |
| of men, keeper of the past | |
| Astrological symbol / Time: Half Moon (late night) | |
| Chakra: Throat | |
| Element (of the four): Water / Air | |
| Color: Sky Blue | |
| Positive Totem: Horse | |
| Qualities: Speed, grace, insight | |
| Needs freedom, space and eventually someone to love. | |
| Negative Totem: Snake | |
| Flaws: Betrayal (but only if threatened), pain, concealed | |
| danger, anguish, fear of change | |
| Is the symbol of treachery, anguish and threat. | |
| The Librarian is record keeper of the signs. They have an innate | |
| interest in history, love to read and love to discover new | |
| information. They despise lies above all other things. They are | |
| the people behind the scenes that make things happen. If you | |
| need something done that most people will never notice, most | |
| likely the person who will help this happen is of a Librarian | |
| sign. They need time to roam around a bit, explore; new | |
| environments help them thrive. | |
| Their task in this life is to learn to compromise. It is a VERY | |
| hard thing to do for them, as they are reluctant to change their | |
| beliefs. They need a safe environment, though. They startle | |
| easily, and they tend to be reclusive and wary when they feel | |
| threatened (which can be over any small thing). Helping them | |
| feel safe is necessary to help them progress in this world and | |
| move towards enlightenment. | |
| The Warrior | |
| Symbol: Hand | |
| Titles: Power over the now, creator of the all, hands of time, | |
| the hands which shape the present | |
| Astrological symbol / Time: Noon Sun (noon) | |
| Chakra: Solar Plexus | |
| Element (of the four): Air / Water | |
| Color: Light Amber / Citrine | |
| Positive Totem: Dragon | |
| Qualities: Power, tenacity, leadership | |
| Needs wisdom, understanding of others and a great deal of | |
| moderation. | |
| Negative Totem: Demigod | |
| Flaws: Immense power, wrath, inevitable loss, indifference, fear | |
| Is the symbol of unavoidable evil that must be fought; unity | |
| must come or mistrust will lead to destruction. | |
| This sign is that of the leader; however people who take action | |
| into their own hands. These are the workers and people who you | |
| see up front actually doing things or leading. They are more | |
| notable and easily detected than other signs. However subtlety | |
| is not their strong sign; they are as obvious as the day is | |
| bright. Although they are powerful, they are very predictable. | |
| Despite their strength they lack intelligence, and with this | |
| they can be overcome easily by other, more cunning signs. A | |
| Prophet sign person or a Mentor sign person are best indicated | |
| for halting a rampage on their part. | |
| For them, not only is moderation needed, but patience, virtue, | |
| wisdom and understanding. This sign may be powerful, but that | |
| power clouds them and overwhelms them. They are misguided | |
| easily, and their power may end up controlling them, instead of | |
| the other way around. A person of a Warrior sign will have great | |
| troubles; they will achieve glory, but temperance is difficult. | |
| Stagnation in this sign is common, leading many people to bear | |
| this sign. However, the most dangerous sign of all is a Warrior | |
| sign as primary, with a Mentor as secondary. These people can | |
| master the world around them with few equals; and it is natural. | |
| With enough effort their will is the only limit they have in | |
| reaching infinite potential. | |
| The Mentor | |
| Symbol: Third Eye | |
| Titles: Perception of the unknown, seeker of knowledge, guide of | |
| power, weaver of the future | |
| Astrological symbol / Time: New Moon (early night) | |
| Chakra: Third Eye / Brow Chakra | |
| Element (of the four): Air / Fire | |
| Color: Deep Sapphire Blue | |
| Positive Totem: Fox | |
| Qualities: Intelligence, flexibility, insight | |
| Needs stimulation and environment for ambition. | |
| Negative Totem: Bat | |
| Flaws: Parasitic behavior, mystery, dissent, indifference, fear | |
| Is the symbol of slow destruction that goes unnoticed at first | |
| to then destroy after it is too late. | |
| This sign is the inventor, tinkerer, researcher and professor. | |
| They search for knowledge, they teach as few others can do; | |
| guides will give the best environment, while mentors will give | |
| the greatest and deepest rewards. They understand that insight, | |
| instruction, knowledge and enlightenment are the strongest | |
| weapons against ignorance, as well as the most powerful tools | |
| for progress. Their work shapes the future of the world, they | |
| are the visionaries, they are the dreamers. They work on the | |
| last stages of instructor, rather than the initial ones (which | |
| are the focus of the Guide sign). | |
| It is a sad sign, as they delve into deep mysteries but few | |
| accompany them in their discoveries and work; loneliness is a | |
| great sorrow for this sign, which leads toward apathy if not | |
| supported properly. An allied Mentor will help fix and | |
| strengthen the structure of a group if in a position of | |
| leadership; however an enemy Mentor is tough to face, as they | |
| are the greatest schemers of all the signs however, they will | |
| only scheme for evil if crossed of vexed. A strongly vexed | |
| Mentor will be merciless and brutal (but an emotionless | |
| brutality and cruelty). This sign alongside the Warrior sign can | |
| be quite dangerous. Their great challenge is to understand the | |
| limits of the understanding of others; patience, acceptance and | |
| forgiveness are the great obstacles for this sign. | |
| The Gatekeeper | |
| Symbol: Ankh | |
| Titles: Messenger of death, sage of the ages, guardian of the | |
| dead, gatekeeper of the end | |
| Astrological symbol / Time: Dusk Sun (late afternoon / dusk) | |
| Chakra: Crown | |
| Element (of the four): Fire / Earth | |
| Color: Royal Purple | |
| Positive Totem: Phoenix | |
| Qualities: Rebirth, immortality, change | |
| Needs understanding of others, to accept limits of others and to | |
| accept that some change is not theirs to bring. | |
| Negative Totem: Raven | |
| Flaws: Death, change, ambition, indifference, fear | |
| Is the symbol of great change for negative things; signifies | |
| hidden ambitions among your ranks. | |
| This sign is not what it appears to be. This sign is the most | |
| difficult to detect of all signs, mainly because they are so | |
| well disguised in this world. Most people fascinated with death | |
| are not of this sign; members of this sign don't dwell on death, | |
| but rather the endless cycle of birth, death and rebirth. They | |
| linger for a bit in each cycle before contemplating the deeper | |
| meanings of all existence. They have a unique perception of | |
| time. This sign does not encompass any stereotype; although | |
| other signs may seem to fit members of this sign, a true | |
| Gatekeeper is defined by his understanding. It is hard to define | |
| a Gatekeeper as being a primary sign or a secondary sign. As a | |
| primary sign, they understand things which to most bring intense | |
| emotions and/or fear; they talk about this on occasion, in an | |
| odd seriousness (more so than usual), and a good amount of time | |
| is spent attempting to resolve these issues (the change of state | |
| in the endless cycle of existence). As a secondary sign, they | |
| will talk about this and contemplate it, but not for very long; | |
| however, unlike other signs, they draw rapid conclusions with an | |
| understanding of the subject uncanny to other signs, able to | |
| delve deeper and faster than any other sign. | |
| Their challenge is to pass through the gate they keep | |
| themselves; although they may help guide others towards a better | |
| afterlife, they guard a gate into themselves as well; and their | |
| own gate is one which even they fear to enter. Understanding | |
| ones true self is a must, and slaying ones own demons will be a | |
| great challenge of this sign. Only once they've slain their own | |
| demons are they allowed to proceed in their cycle of | |
| reincarnation, as well as gaining deeper enlightenment. | |
| The Prophet | |
| Symbol: Star | |
| Titles: Light of hope, protector of the sacred, above all | |
| things, separate from time | |
| Astrological symbol / Time: Stars (midnight) | |
| Chakra: None / Kundalini Awakening | |
| Element (of the four): Fire / Air | |
| Color: No Color / Aether | |
| Positive Totem: Owl | |
| Qualities: Wise, intelligence, decisive action | |
| Needs comfortable environment, environment that supports room | |
| for ambition, space for his endeavors. | |
| Negative Totem: Spider | |
| Flaws: Scheming, traps, pain, mystery, sadism | |
| Is the symbol of manipulation, sadism and lies; a web of deceit | |
| may be present or soon to come. | |
| This sign is the most difficult to comprehend. They walk among | |
| stars and among men at the same time. Their perceptions are | |
| flung far out. Their intuition is deep and eerie, and at many | |
| times scary. The fires of their souls can rock the core beliefs | |
| of any other sign. Although the Warrior sign is the most | |
| powerful in the physical and spiritual, the sign of the Prophet | |
| can easily rip them apart. This sign is sacred, and to be | |
| cherished. Their time among members of the other signs is short, | |
| and it is best to be appreciated well. | |
| The Prophet may find difficulty in being understood but also | |
| finds over time that there is little need to be understood and | |
| they realize their true purpose. This sign is near the end of | |
| their time in this world; they prepare for the next stage. The | |
| sign of the Gatekeeper will aid them the most in there | |
| transition. Learning to accept help from others is their main | |
| challenge, and especially so when dealing in matters that are | |
| beyond the comprehension of even accomplished mystics. Failure | |
| to do so turns their life right back to reincarnation with loss | |
| of all progress done in this life, except progress in the | |
| maturity of their personality. | |
