My Parents...
By: ggnore Date: March 13, 2020, 12:15 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Sometimes when I want to talk about things with my parents, they
make up excuses to not talk with me. It can be either that my
mom has anther headache or that my dad is just tired from
working. After they say that sometimes, they go do stuff that
they would enjoy like watch the TV or work on a home project.
And at other times, they go straight to my sister and do stuff
with her even though they said they needed space or a nap. I
also want to talk with them about me transferring schools
because I think that it would be good for me, but they just
listen for a while and then start talking with themselves and my
sister or they immediately shoot it down without me explaining
anything. What should I do about this?

Could you possibly talk to a school counselor and ask him/her if
they could arrange for you to transfer to another school? And if
they/you need your parents permission, maybe the counselor could
ask for a meeting with both you and your parents? You could
present your case and your parents would have to listen or else
they'll look bad to the counselor.
I'm so sorry that your parents make time for your sister but not
for you. It's so unfair when parents play favorites, isn't it!
It'll be their loss because when you're older and move out of
the house, you may not have time for them anymore.
