50 Books In 2013
By: AshleyW Date: March 18, 2013, 5:39 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Hey Guys!
This is kinda like a reading club, book list, etc all thread,
haha! I first saw it years ago on the original othforums & a lot
of my friends now do it on facebook as well. ;D
Basically you just keep a numerical list in here for all of us
(including yourself if you're an organizational freak like
myself, hehe) of what books you read throughout the year. 50
doesn't have to be your actual goal, everyone sets their own.
Last year I set mine for between 30 - 35 & I got through 29 by
the end of the year, so I was fairly happy with that.
As an example, here's my personal full list of books read in
2012:
1.) The Vampire Diaries: The Hunters Vol. 1, Phantom: -
L.J. Smith (408 pages)
2.) Stefan's Diaries - Vol. 1: Origins - L.J. Smith, Kevin
Williamson & Julie Plec (256)
3.) LIFE After College: The Complete Guide to Getting What You
Want - Jenny Blake (293)
4.) The Day I Shot Cupid - Jennifer Love Hewitt (208)
5.) The Pilot's Wife - Anita Shreve (295)
6.) A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity - Bill O'Reilly (272)
7.) A Dog's Purpose - W. Bruce Cameron (319)
8.) Sisters - Danielle Steel (289)
9.) A Dog's Journey - W. Bruce Cameron (336)
10.) Killing Lincoln [The Shocking Assassination that Changed
America Forever] - Bill O'Reilly & Martin Dugard (336)
11.) Stefan's Diaries - Vol. 2: Bloodlust - L.J. Smith, Kevin
Williamson & Julie Plec (256)
12.) Stefan's Diaries - Vol. 3: The Craving - L.J. Smith, Kevin
Williamson & Julie Plec (256)
13.) Stefan's Diaries - Vol. 4: The Ripper - L.J. Smith, Kevin
Williamson & Julie Plec (256)
14.) Stefan's Diaries - Vol. 5: The Asylum - L.J. Smith, Kevin
Williamson & Julie Plec (256)
15.) Stefan's Diaries - Vol. 6: The Compelled - L.J. Smith,
Kevin Williamson & Julie Plec (256)
16.) A Book - Desi Arnaz (322)
17.) I Love You, Ronnie: The Letters Between Ronald & Nancy
Reagan - Ronald & Nancy Reagan (224)
18.) Mommywood - Tori Spelling (256)
19.) Uncharted TerriTORI - Tori Spelling (216)
20.) I'm Only One Man! - Regis Philbin w/ Bill Zehme (304)
21.) Who Wants to Be ME - Regis Philbin w/ Bill Zehme (224)
22.) How I Got This Way - Regis Philbin (336)
23.) America, You Sexy B*tch: A Love Letter to Freedom - Meghan
McCain & Michael Ian Black (352)
24.) Killing Kennedy: The End of Camelot - Bill O'Reilly &
Martin Dugard (336)
25.) The Amateur: Barack Obama In the White House - Edward Klein
(281)
26.) 666 Park Avenue - Gabriella Pierce (309)
27.) Rod: The Autobiography - Rod Stewart (400)
28.) One Last Time: A Psychic Medium Speaks to Those We Have
Loved & Lost - John Edward (256)
29.) The Christmas Sweater - Glenn Beck w/ Kevin Balfe & Jason
Wright (304)
I know people who've already read 50 books this year & it's only
3 months in! :o I jokingly accuse them of doing audio books or
real short 1's or easy reads or something like that because I've
never had the time or ability to read that much. I'm SUCH a slow
reader & I have a real weak left eye (my own fault for not
taking care of it like I should have when I was growing up),
sooo my eyes get tired easily & I have to take a break. I try to
read @ least a chapter of any given novel I'm doing every single
day, but when you're reading stuff @ work, for classes,
magazines, etc, sometimes you just don't do it.
For 2013 I have set my definite goal a few books higher in a 33
- 35 range & I'm hoping that'll push me to get through a few
more than I did last year.
So far as of March, I have read:
1.) Life Code: The New Rules for Winning In the Real
World - Dr. Phil McGraw (265 pages)
2.) Talk Before Sleep: A Novel - Elizabeth Berg (240)
3.) Three Weeks with My Brother: A Memoir - Nicholas & Micah
Sparks (378)
4.) Premonitions - Jude Watson (246)
5.) The Bible of Unspeakable Truths - Greg Gutfeld (307)
6.) The Joy of Hate: How to Triumph Over Whiners In the Age of
Phony Outrage - Greg Gutfeld (268)
-
7.) "Heaven & Hell: My Life In the Eagles (1974-2001)" - Don
Felder w/ Wendy Holden (352)
I'm pretty happy w/ where I'm currently @. How 'bout you guys?!
:)

3. Tina Fey - Bossypants (5/5)
