Miles jumped here, his spider sense still on hyper-sensitive.
"Looks like I'm on my own...once again.." He said, looking
around various objects.

He swears he can hear Kaya laughing. That pure, undiluted,
innocent giggle of hers. ^The picture frames have her face
looking out at him. One catches his eye, because it's that of a
couple. It's a candid shot of the two, hands linked as thery
walked away, but looked back together at the camera. Their steps
were in sync with one another, they smiled happily, and their
hands twined in that forever sort of way. And Miles saw his own
face...and Kaya's. And then, like a dream, the man's face became
Haro's instead. And the woman was Kaya as she looked at him
adoringly. As if he could no wrong in her eyes. Images flashed
through hs mind, Kaya smiling at him, Kaya touching him, Kaya
hugging him, Kaya, Kaya, Kaya. Until the final image is of a
crying and badly injured empath. She stared up at him, and he
was inches from her, ready to free her, to save her. But still
she reached out to the sneering Haro that stood at her other
side. Stood and let her bleed out. Somewhere, wherever that
shadow went, Kaya was dead. There was a cold certainty inside
his mind.

Miles looked around. As his eyes caught glimpse of the picture,
he stopped and smiled. He thought. What is that picture is a
foreshadow.., but that thought went away as quick as it came, as
his face morphed into Haro, and Kaya, looking at him with those
eyes.. He attached a web to the picture and threw the picture
across the room, shattering it into tiny little pieces. He
looked at the ground, and he couldn't believe his eyes. Kaya was
sitting there, bleeding to death. She seemed to look at him,
asking him to set her free... But that thought was canceled
quickly also, as she, once again, reached for Haro. He seemed to
be snickering.. almost teasing him. He stood there..stood there
and let her die.. In his mind, Haro was dead to him...and so was
Kaya.... "No she's not!!" He screamed to himself... Then it went
off. Like an alarm that never went of. He wasn't sure where it
was coming from, but that was second. First, he needed to find
Kaya, and if applicable, kill Haro on the way. He went from the
basement to the attic to look.

Miles stumbled down the stairs, on the floor, gasping for air.
"There's no way I was going to win that.." He said to himself.

Miles suddenly realized everything. "It's not his fault... It's
not his fault..." He said, smiling, still gasping for air.

She touched his face gently, looking down at him. "Koi, I need
you to get up. Now. I promise, I'll explain it all, but we've
got to go. We need to get Miles some help. He's hurt. Bad." This
was a different Kaya, a more take charge Kaya, but her smile was
still the same.
She turned, moving to Miles quickly. It's not clear why she was
a fourth year. Her eyes scanned over the bleeding teen quickly,
making a quick diagnosis. "All right, we need to get you
somewhere safer than this house." She picked him up, much as if
he were no trouble for her to carry. It was an odd sight, that
petite girl doing so.
She looked at Haro. "Come closer to me. Wrap your arms around
me." And out they skipped through the shadow. As they exit the
house, Kaya gives a rather intimidating hiss, flame sparking
slightly at something. And then they're gone again.
