The Reaper Review - Issue 2 - first quarter review

Hello and welcome to the second issue of the Reaper Review, you
one stop place for everything Reykjavik Reapers related.
We have now had 7 league weeks so far since the end of April and
4 cup games and Reapers are already storming away with a 6 point
lead in division 2. They remain the only 2 side yet to lose, but
they have to be careful, as a 6 point lead can quickly erode in
this game! During these past 7 weeks, they have racked up 6 wins
and 1 draw scoring 20 goals and only conceding 9.
While they have been sterling in the league, they have faltered
a little in the League Cup, winning 1, drawing 1 and losing 1.
However, they still have a shout of making it through to the
next round. Meanwhile in the EA Knockout Cup, they are through
to the 2nd round after beating Thames Ironworks. Who will they
face in the next round?
Reapers' performance in April/May also earned caretaker manager
Dave Rosewell the manager of the month award. Before he took
over the then Sky Blues, they were very much a mid-table team,
having finished 6th and 8th these past 2 seasons. They are now
serious contenders for the division 2 title after going through
a massive face lift.
The new look back 4 of Danik Marashko, Enzo Fratelli, Beka
Kechakmadze and Ayho Kushimo (all who were signed in the
pre-season window) have been imperious. While new captain Vilo
Fluess has really stepped up to the plate in defensive midfield
and Andrei Perebyinis has been great since signing from United
1908. Enzo Julliene is the only former Sky Blues player left in
the side and the Belgian has shown why he deserved to be kept
around with 3 goals from midfield.
