So it has been somewhat of a quite opening several weeks to the
season on the transfer market, with many teams looking to bed
new talent and see how they perform. The same has been the case
for Golden Eagles FC, since their busy pre-season, they too have
been fairly quiet.
Eagles have had a somewhat mixed start to the season in division
1, suffering 2 defeats in the opening 3 weeks. However, since
then they have won 3 and drawn 1 and now sit in a respectable
5th place. Meanwhile in the cup competitions, they have won 3
from 3 so far in the X-box league cup and are through to the 2nd
round of the EA Knockout cup.
Now after 7 league and 4 cup games, Eagles have decided to let
Argentine duo Mauro Sotomayor and Tomz Moralez leave the club,
with both looking for more game time elsewhere. Defender
Sotomayor has joined division 2 Eastern Whirlwinds for a fee of
55mil, where upon his appointment he was named captain. While
Moralez has moved to Kingfisher Dolphins, also for a fee of
55mil. Eagles wish them both well at their new clubs.
In their places, Eagles Mananger Dave Rosewell signed Ukrainian
defender Roman Vynnychuk and English midfielder Ady Tupperman in
a double swoop from United 1908 for a combined fee of 110mil.
Both players served under Dave Rosewell during his caretaker
tenure at the division 2 club last season. Vynnychuk will wear
the number 14, while Tupperman takes shirt number 18.
