Nikara get 2nd win in a row in wild contest
The Nikara Dragons are tonight celebrating consecutive wins for
the first time this season as they leave the Boleyn Ground, home
of Thames Ironworks, with a victory. The match was a
rollercoaster that they made look a lot harder than it should
given the Ironworks played 86 minutes with 10 men! In the end a
strong second half meant they came out 4-2 winners on a crisp
Saturday evening in the South of England.
Woeful but wild start
Things started abysmally for the Dragons when Brazilian ace
Danni scored with the second touch of the game. After going
behind on 1 minute things looked like they might pick up for
Nikara when David Newman got a fairly ropey red card after just
4 minutes but that was just a blip. Club legend Julian Dicks
scored a trademark thunderbolt on 17 minutes making a mockery of
the tactical and numerical advantage.
If the club were hoping things would pick up from there it was
not plain sailing. It took a fortuitous strike by teenage ace
Anders Limt, playing out of position up front, to get the
Dragons back into the contest and they went into the half 2-1
down.
A game of two halves
The players must have had a rocket from the manager at half time
because they came out for the second half like a totally
different team. New signing, 16 year old Egyptian ace, Nero
Shallahs scored the equaliser on 67 minutes before giving the
Dragons their first lead of the game just 6 minutes later.
Brad Prittwick, following his double in last weeks win, put the
game out of sight in the 86th minute bagging his 11th of the
season and giving the travelling fans some breathing room.
What the manager had to say
"Honestly I didn't say anything to them at half time. I had a
dodgy pie in the first half and spent the entire half time break
in the bog. No idea why the improvements happened but I'm pretty
pleased about it. The good thing about having a team full of
kids is that they have wild overboard youth confidence and don't
let things like playing like crap get to them". Pretty shocking
stuff really.
Whats next for the Dragons?
The Dragons might be on a two game win streak but expect that to
come to a shuddering halt in the next 2 weeks. Up next is
Hellsinki Hellpuppies who struck 7 times this week. The week
after that they get to be thrashed by Cockney Cockrells as the
real title contenders flex their muscles. Expect a 6 man defense
with 4 defensive midfielders and D tactic in both weeks!

[move][glow=red,2,300]Helsinki 7 (seven) - 4
Cockney[/glow][/move]
Match overview
Helsinki's poor patch was well and truly put to bed in this
utter goal fest over in Finlands capital. Both teams exchanged
early blows but Helsinki then streaked away and despite a
spirited performance Cockney couldnt reel them back in. The
result moves Helsinki back above Cockney and into the automatic
promotion places once more.
How they lined up
Helsinki went for 3 at the back and the extra man in midfield,
choosing to play a counter attacking style to try and combat
their opponents approach.
Cockney masterfully countered that plan with a European style of
play and a back four with a diamond in midfield and looking to
flood that area of the pitch.

Were going to summarise here
Phase 1 of the game was a frenetic opening 12 minutes that saw
1) Cocney equalise twice
2) six goals and Helsinki take a 4 - 2 lead
3) the real turn to form of Lazslo Kiss who slotted home a brace
Phase 2 saw a still action packed remainder of the first half
with Honest grabbing the fifth and Harrisjones the sixth,
sandwiched between a third goal for Cockney. Half time score 6 -
3 !!!!
Phase 3 is the entire second half. Relative calm and just the
two goal. Cockney got it back to 6 - 4 on 58 minutes and it was
squeaky bum time. But on 79 minutes Harrisjones again scored
putting the game to bed and netting his hat trick - in the
process doubling his tally for the season in one game.
Manager's mouthful
The adrenaline is pumping after that one. Wow. That was insane.
For some reason we either seem to struggle to find the net, or
we have a purple patch in a game and fill our boots. Ill be
glad for more of the later in the final three games of the
season. Im really pleased for the front two. Harrisjones
deserves his hat trick, hes been improving week by week and
will be some player in a few seasons time. And Kiss has showed
the fans his quality today and moved to 21 goals for the season.
Man of the match
This was a straight up choice between Harrisjones and Kiss and
Harrisjones took it with 57% of the vote.

Golden Eagles FC were held to yet another draw, their 7th of the
season, as AFC Coventry snatched a very fortunate late
equaliser. Stats wise, this was a very close game, which was to
be expected with Coventry's very defensive formation. Eagles had
a couple of more shots on target (7/5), but Coventry's A.M. Oven
had a good game, as did their own keeper Kamil Uzbaezanov with
both making 6 saves each.
Eagles took the lead very early on, as Pavel Chernyshev's shot
took wicked deflection, wrong footing the keeper in the 2nd
minute. Everyone expected the floodgates to open, but it wasn't
to be. A minute later, Angelo Nazari's tried catch Oven of his
line with a lob, but it went just over the bar.
In the 2nd half, Jans Goisthlt had a free kick hit the post and
another one was only just saved by the keeper. Then in the 78th
minute, controversy struck as Alessio Kovacic had a goal
disallowed after the ref had spotted something off the ball.
This incensed the travelling fans and bench, as it was a
terrible decision.
The ref's mistake (and it wasn't the first of the game) proved
to be costly to Eagles, as with 5 minutes to go, Coventry
equalised! Rior Kirkwell's over-head kick cannoned off the post,
hit the diving Kamil Uzbaezanov in the back and went in! Such
bad luck for Uz who had been having a blinding game up until
then. The game finished 1-1 and the ref had to be escorted from
the pitch by police, as the Eagles' fans let him know exactly
what they thought of his performance!
"What can I say, any other day, we would have won this game
comfortably, but luck and the ref especially were against us
today. I don't condone our fan's actions after the game, but I
feel their frustrations."
The point sees Eagles stay in 2nd, STILL a tantalising 2 points
behind Robbaillie Escocia who drew away to United 1908.
Meanwhile Helsinki Hellhounds moved back up to 3rd, after
thrashing Cockney Cockrells 7-4! With 3 games remaining, only 5
points separate the top 4. It looks like things will be going
down to the wire!

[center][move]Sky Blues vs. Kingfisher Dolphins[/center]
First game in charge for the new kingfisher manager and well it
turned out to be a lot more entertaining than what had
potentially been expected certainly by the fisher manager. The
Manager had asked the side to go out and play for their
positions and its safe to say that this is certainly what they
all decided to do. Even if the result hadn't turned out how the
fisher side had planned for it to be. Fisher dominated the
possession play throughout the game, dominated in front of goal
but in the end Fisher just couldn't manage to stick more goals
into the back of the net than their opponents. After taking the
lead in the 14th minute things were looking extremely good for
the fisher side, but the lead didn't last long which could have
potentially given the new manager something to think about going
forward.
By the time half time came and the referee blew his whistle the
Fisher side had decided lets go into the half losing 3-2 and
lets make it extremely difficult for ourselves to get back into
the game. A rollocking must have taken place in the changing
room at half time for the Fisher players as they came out into
the second half looking like the better side, but even this
wasn't enough to stop and 4th going in for the home side.
At the point the new manager just sat back in his chair without
saying a single word and just took the rest of the game in
leaving the rest of the coaching staff to make any decisions
from the 51st minute onwards. Even when the fisher players got
themselves back into it at 4-3 down the boss still didn't show
any emotion or direction. Perhaps he is wondering what he has
let himself in for with this challenge, wondering where the
nearest exit actually is before he gets too invested in the club
and its long term ambitions.
The game ended up with Fisher on the losing side even after
having 26 shots on goals and 62% of the possession, the game
also ended up with the Fisher side down to ten men in what can
only be described as a moment of pure frustration. KIM_UHL_POHL
sent off for an utterly reckless and completely needless
challenge at this time of the match and in the area of the field
the foul was committed. The youngster will have to surely learn
quickly from this if he is to even keep his spot in the side, as
this could be a sign of things to come if he cant keep his head
in these games which are sent to test resolve.
All in all an indifferent start to the new managers career at
fisher, certainly has giving the manager something to think
about and work towards as he looks forward to the next game he
takes in charge. Training this season in the fisher camp could
be ramped up even more than it had been during the previous
week.

United 1908 were unfortunate not to beat title contenders
Robbaillie Escocia, despite having had a bulk of the possession
(61%/39%) and shots (20/10). Not for for the first time this
season, their keeper W. Rotunda has proven to be the difference
between a good result and defeat, with 12 saves in the match.
It was United's star player A. Perebyinis that opened the
scoring in the 30th minute, with a powerful shot. Their lead
only lasted 9 minutes however, Robbaillie's own super star R.
Bjelica equalised with similarly venomous shot. United had a
great chance in injury time, Dhruv Khera was shown a straight
red for elbowing Artem Kolinko in the face. However, R.
Arakishvili's free kick was well saved by Rotunda and the game
finished 1-1.
After the game, A. Perebyinis was award with the man of the
match.
"The boys played well and we gave Robbaillie a good run for
their money. We can't help but feel a little hard done by only
getting a draw. However, 5 games unbeaten is still a great
result for us."
United stay rooted in 8th spot with 22 points as Nikara Dragons
win over Thames Ironworks sees them move up to 6th on 28 points.
While AFC Coventry's draw with Golden Eagles FC sees them drop
to 7th on 27 points.

Manchester United 3-1 Sarnians
United deserved this one, without any arguments. We had 3 very
good chances in the opening minutes and if we had been a little
more composed and clinical then the game may have gone very
differently.
But once United were 2-0 up it looked over, our hopes flickered
when Ajak pulled on back, but a goal a minute later killed the
game off.
Next time we meet is in the Cup Final!

Gyergyoi 2 Wolves 1
So the Transylvanian team took all 3 points and just about kept
their dreams of escaping the drop alive.
Both sides made changes to their starting lineups, and adopted a
completely attacking mentality. Both keepers were on top form
though with Murray in between the sticks for Wolves probably
having the better of the two but Rinne in goal for GYHK also was
probably the home teams top performer.
Derek Dougan ran the show for the most part for Wolves but
Gyergyoi's experiened midfied trio of Follis, Sarpatki and
Szigeti eventually created the chances that were eventually put
away.
Unuusually star defender Goga was the saviour with the winner in
the 72nd minute, bringing the fans to their feet and giving them
a glimmer of hope of survival.
Roll on next week and Harja Gyergyoi!
