Nikara looking to build momentum after big win
The mood at Sinegard Stadium is buoyant as the club prepare for
their week 19 fixture against Thames Ironworks as the battle for
mid table mediocrity continues. After the second win of the new
regimes tenure last weekend the club is hoping to use this as a
springboard and finish the season with some optimism.
The hurdle in the way is Thames Ironworks who came from 2 goals
behind last weekend to get a 2-2 draw with the highly fancied
Hellsinki Hellhounds. Although confidence is low at the
Hellhounds, the result was still a fine show of resilience from
the Ironworks who looked for a while like they might be on the
end of a hiding!
Who are the game changers
Thames Ironworks are not a deep squad with a few standout
players and then a load of 12 rated filler players which is
quite unusual across the league. Top defender Dani Octavio
offers a sturdy spine and will be looking to marshal the
backline to keep things clean in front of 16 rated goalkeeper
Huolier.
In midfield another Danny, Danni offers traditional brazilian
flair alongside Paul Ince and Joe Cole. These three all have the
ability to change a game with a moment of magic with Danni and
Cole having 3 assists each for the season.
Up front there is more depth with the line led by top scorer
David Newman. He is partnered by Freddie Woodgate and both offer
good shooting with top end forward passing. There ability to
interchange between 9 and 10 make for a difficult task for
opposing defenders
What does the league table tell us
The Ironworks team sit in 9th, 4 points behind#8 United 1908 and
level on points with #10 Sky Blues. Nikara sit in 7th with no
real hope of catching anyone but also probably safe of being
dragged too far down the league table. On paper you'd expect
Nikara to be confident to come out of this one with some points
but the Boleyn Ground is a loud, characterful home ground that
maximises the noise coming from its 35,000 attendance.
Either way it'll be an interesting game and, with no cup fun to
look forward, should involve two teams fit and raring to go

[move][glow=red,2,300]Helsinki Hellhounds vs Cockney
Cockrells[/glow][/move]
Overview
It's the alliteration derby as the Hellhounds (4th place) face
the Cockrells (3rd place). Both clubs know that this game could
go a long way to deciding the fate the of final automatic
promotion place. Having both had disappointing results last
week, they'll be desperate to get things back on track as the
run in builds momentum and the number of games reduces quickly.
Helsinki know that a home win will put them above Cockney by
virtue of the better goals difference.
What are the book makers saying?
Helsinki win - 45%
Draw - 33%
Cockney win - 22%
Helsinki, by virtue of playing at home are the favourites but
there isn't a great deal between any of the possible results.
Team news
Both sides are missing on key man in midfield. For Helsinki it
is their star midfielder Shephard who is missing through
suspension after picking up his third booking of the season. For
Cockney it is Maddison - for the exact same reason as Shephard.
Form guide
Helsinki Hellhounds WWLDLD (league form)
Four without a win now, things are looking more bleak by the
week. Helsinki were grateful not to lose ground on Cockney last
week but know they cannot afford a defeat.
Cockney Cockrells DWLWLD (league form)
Cockrells have managed a bit of everything over the past six
games and actually have an identical record to Helsinki with 8
points from the 6 games.
Players to watch
Bismark the German ruler has been imperious up front for
Cockney. Hikkara will need to have a good game and keep Cockney
out given the poor run of form by Helsinki's forwards
Manager's mouthful
"We cannot afford to lose this one. Win it and our destiny is in
our own hands. Lose it and there is every chance that we'll face
the play offs. That isn't our focus though. Reece Evans and
Honest will start again having had a bit of a rest last time
out. Patrobe will continue in midfield and we'll switch
Harrisjones to playing further up the field. Fingers crossed it
all does the trick!"

Manchester United
WE HAVE DROPPED down to 3rd after a poor run standard now we
have to play the 5th place team and we could actually drop down
to 5th ourselves if we lose which we cant afford to do if i want
to stand a chance of winning the league we have to win simple as
that

Sky Blues - Kingfisher Dolphins
First game for the new Fisher manager, no hopes, no goals, no
expectations have been set out by the new manager for the club
so far. With only a few games left of the season the fisher side
have basically been said to go out and play for their positions
next season as changed will no doubt be made.
With this in mind boys have been said to be working their
hardest this week to impress on the training field to even get
into the starting line up this weekend. Fisher against a Sky
Blue side away shouldn't be to difficult on paper but there will
be a lot of nerves surrounding the players as the uncertainty of
a new manager will no doubt taint the performances they produce.
Young Diog in the middle of the park for fisher will likely be
the sides stand out player but can he live up to the name that
has been put on him by many at the club. His performances over
the next couple of games and especially todays game in front of
the new manager for the first time could set the tone of whether
or not he stays at the club of leaves.
The Sky Blues do have a quality side and some might wonder why
they are in the position they are in, the fisher manager is said
to be wary of the home sides midfield as it boast a fair bit of
secondary power compared which could prove enough to tip things
in the blues favour. However with all this in mind, predictions
for this game are a draw as the unsettled fisher players are
likely to change their playing habits in match day 19 which will
more than likely see a few mistakes made and careless ones at
that. 1-1 the predicted score line with the stronger chance of
three points going to the home side.

Manchester United vs Sarnians
A fully fit and available squad for the trip to United, but we
continue to press forward with the plan of getting the teenagers
in our squad as much game time as possible. Sanders, Tuipers,
Sol, Staggs, Esteboso and Karrar all start in a starting line up
with an average age of just 20!
But it isnt just a run out, we are going to press and pass as
we always do and give United an idea of what they face in the
cup final that is yet to come.

With only 4 weeks left of the season, title contenders Golden
Eagles FC travel to the West Midlands to face AFC Coventry.
Eagles have league form on their side, having won 4 and drawn 2
in their last 6. And team will no doubt be buoyed by Dave
Rosewell winning manager of the month for January. While
play-off chasers Coventry have home advantage on their side,
having won 3 of the last 6 games all at home, including a 3-0
victory over current leaders Robbaillie Escocia.
Earlier in the season, these 2 teams played out a 0-0 draw in
Tampere, Coventry frustrating the home side with a mighty
defensive display. Eagles know what to expect however and they
will no doubt push their opponents to the limit. Neither side
have any absences, Eagles have Domenic Torcaso, Kai Matsumoto
and Rodrigo Desbato all returning from suspensions and they are
all expected to start. A couple of their players are still close
to suspensions, including Alessio Kovacic who has been named on
the bench, Angelo Nazari will take his place, with Min So Jouy
slotting back into his usual position. Taavi Ruusumki and Danik
Marashko also both drop to the bench.
All eyes will be on Eagles forward pairing, Pavel Chernyshev and
Jans Goisthalt, they have 38 goals between them and they will
need to be on top form today if the visitors are to have any
chance of breaking down Coventry's stubborn defence. Coventry
Defender Ricky Wright and midfielder Rhine Hessler will be key
figures for the home side, they have arguably been their best
players so far this season.
"We are down to the final 4 games, 2 away and 2 at home. I would
say this will be our toughests away game of the 2, Coventry have
excellent home form and an experienced manager. They need a good
result just as much as we do, we gotta be at our best today. We
are at full strength and everyone is fully fit, we will play to
win of course, but we know that even coming away with a point
will be a good result"
Eagles sit a tantalising 2 points away from top spot, as
Robbaillie Escocia travel to United 1908 who have turned a
corner recently. Meanwhile 4th placed Helsinki Hellhounds and
3rd placed Cockney Cockrells face off, it is a must win for
Hellhounds who find themselves 3 points off an automatic
promotion spot after a poor string of results. Any slip ups here
and Kingfisher Dolphins who are level on points with them and
are under new management will be ready to pounce.

With the chance of a play-off spot pretty much now out of reach,
United 1908 go into their tasty home game against Robbaillie
Escocia still hungry, as they seek to finish best of the rest in
6th. The players will also be looking to prove themselves
against the table toppers and in front of the board members, as
attention begins to shift to next season's preparations.
United have a full team available, newest signing Lewys Gallahad
is expected to make debut from off the bench, having been signed
too late last week to make the 2-2 draw against Cockney
Cockrells. Fellow new signing Ady Tupperman will get his 2nd
start in a row. While Robbaillie also have a full team
available.
"This game could go either way, we have been on a good roll as
of late with 2 wins and 2 draws. This will be good test of the
lads' mettle against 1 of the top teams in the division."
As caretaker manger mentioned, United have won 2 and drawn 2
while scoring 8 and only conceding twice. Robbaillie have won 3
and lost once. United are 5 points behind 5th place AFC Coventry
who host Golden Eagles FC and 4 behind Nikara Dragons who are
away to Thames Ironworks.
