Real Nerrad vs Helsinki |
|
Defending champions Helsinki open up with their toughest group |
|
game fixture against Real Nerrad, ouch. A win for either club |
|
will go a long way towards securing progress out of the group |
|
stages and much will hinge on whether star man Oli Marcentos |
|
plays for Nerrad. He's been rested in this competition before |
|
but looks relatively fresh so may still get a run out. Helsinki |
|
have a number of options to look at and a few players that are a |
|
little tired after the opening two rounds so expect them to use |
|
the power from their bench to get those players fresh for round |
|
3 of league matches next weekend. |
|
AFC Coventry vs Acorns |
|
On paper, this is the easiest of the ties that Acorns will have |
|
in this group with Eagles and Sarnians to come. Realistically, |
|
if they are to progress, only a win will do!! With that in mind, |
|
we might see less negative tactics compared to the past two |
|
weekends. |
|
Darlington vs Cartagena |
|
Tough tie to kick off in one of the more even groups in the |
|
competition. The heirachy think that three wins gets you through |
|
to the knock outs so they'll be hoping to get the first one in |
|
the opening round. We're expecting a couple of squad players to |
|
get a run out. |

Sarnians vs Golden Eagles FC |
|
The Xbox League Cup kicks off this evening, as Eagles face |
|
rivals Sarnians for the second time already this season. They |
|
are joined by AFC Coventry and Acorn Academicals (who also play |
|
against each other tonight) in group 5. Again, this game could |
|
go either Both Eagles and their hosts will be keen to get off to |
|
a good start in the group. Dustan Huevo returns from suspension |
|
for the visitors, while Ember Tuipers is available again |
|
following a minor injury. |

The group stages of the XBOX cup start tonight and the Reapers |

from Iceland are visiting us, they got to think that its a good |
|
time to play us as we have not got off to the brightest start |
|
and they could be right as only 3-5 players will retain their |
|
places as the manager has stated that he WILL make changes as |
|
he searches for his first win of this fledgling season. He is |
|
hoping to spark the squad as he has hammered them at the center |
|
as he is not happy with the results and the attitude and |
|
