Golden Eagles FC vs Rael Nerrad
The old rivals face off yet again this season in what will be
the 5th encounter between the 2 sides. So far they have 2 win
apiece, Eagles have won both the league encounters, while Nerrad
won in both legs of the league cup. Eagles are fresh from
celebrating their Division One win and will be looking to do the
double, while Nerrad looking to add to their trophy cabinet and
get the last laugh in their rivalry.
Mr Rosewell has a bit of a selection problem up front with Pavel
Chernyshev missing with a rib injury, while neither Milos
Potkozarač nor Jussi Kokko have really had a chance to
shine this season. So it remains to be seen which of the two
young strikers will join Davy Hanna up front. There is the
option to of course for the Englishman to be alone striker with
1 or 2 number 10s in support, but with Diog Guillems missing
through suspension that may also prove to be difficult. Their
opponents will also be missing Howell Parry through suspension.
This is certainly going to be a thrilling game, Oli Marcentos
looks dangerous as ever with 33 goals so far this season, while
Robert Franke and Nissim Asayag have 22 and 18 goals
respectively. So Eagles' defence is going to need to be rock
solid to keep out that trio. Of course Eagles did finish the
with the best defensive record in Division One, having conceded
only 33 times, while also whopping scoring 80 times, so they are
no slouches in front of goal either.
"We've had time to soak in our title win and to recover from any
hangovers (believe me, we were all a bit fuzzy the next day).
The boys have been training hard, it is a shame to be missing
Pavel and Diog, but we have plenty of depth and we eager to to
seal a possible double." Commented Dave Rosewell in an
interview.
