Well in a surprise move the owners of Wearside Redstar arranged |
|
a press conference to confirm that after the sacking of manager |
|
Andy Peverley that the board were exiting OFMC altogether. There |
|
were several franchises interested in taking over the c;by, and |
|
it was a consortium from New York State that were victorious and |
|
the newly formed Syracuse Saints were formed. |
|
OFMC OG Skittles was installed on a long term caretaker basis, |
|
with the aim of creating a side that could achieve promotion to |
|
division one, and retain this status. Skittles said he was proud |
|
to be given this opportunity and the club had a number of very |
|
promising young players and he saw it as his duty to develop |
|
them into an established starting eleven capable of challenging |
|
next season. |

He said it was a long term project and that the clubs young |
|
talent would not be sold, and he hoped when the time came to |
|
move on they had a team capable of rivalling any in the game. |
