| idea for improving oil feed to the cams | |

| Good morning gents, | |
| I am rebuilding my Nuovo Falcone engine. It started with | |
| intending to just change the clutch plates but once the cases | |
| were off it was clear that more work was needed. So far: | |
| Crank regrind including recovered nose for the oil feed, and | |
| new big end. New bearings throughout the engine/gearbox. New | |
| selector forks. Complete cyl head re build with improved | |
| valves/new guides/springs. New standard oil pump. Camshaft re | |
| grind/new followers. | |
| I'm intending to fit a viton oil seal instead of a plain | |
| bearing on the crank nose oil feed. My attention is now on the | |
| camshaft oil feed. What a dumb system that relief valve fed weir | |
| is!! I'm thinking to tap the relief valve piston and fit a 0.3mm | |
| carb jet into it, giving a permanent small feed to the weir but | |
| still having a full valve operation at 3.8 bar. | |
| Has anyone done this? and/or any thoughts? | |
| PS: I already have the Moto Pirner modified oil feed and full | |
| flow filter system fitted. | |

| There's a 'standard' fix for this adding a separate oil delivery | |
| pipe, but I don't have full details of it. | |
| I think it originated in Germany, so you might find something on | |
| guzzitreff. | |
| Also pretty sure it's covered in Leafman's thread on advrider, | |
| but I can't get into that right now to get you a link. | |
| Kater on that thread has definitely done that mod. | |

| I have the secondary valve feed. It smokes after a while on | |
| idle. Apparently they all do... To minimise cam wear I don't set | |
| the idle really low. I have it set like a brit single. | |

| This is the additional feed to the camshaft Cloggy: not to inlet | |
| valve | |
| Incidentally, I have the inlet oil feed, and no issues with | |
| smoking, but I also have the cylinder head modification using | |
| 8mm stems and guides fitted with valve stem oil seals | |
