Boyer Bransden Induction Discharge unit

Has anyone used one of these on Nuovo Falcone ignition? It is
a small device, about the size of a cigarette packet which is
designed to replace the condenser. They improve the ignition
and life of the points. The ID unit has an LED on it which tells
you when the points open & close, so timing is easier to set up
as well.
I fitted one several years ago to a BSA Bantam D10 with side
points. It actually ran quite well.

hello rob electronic ignitions are very effective I myself
equipped my aermacchi tv 71 of a power system dynamo 12v I am
very satisfied (the original 6v dynamo had burned) but the
ignition traditional switch cheap works so well and also fits
the simplicity of the falcone very well ?

I wouldn't see much point Rob; my NF has the same points it came
out of the factory with, and I've had to set them maybe 4 times
in 12 years and clean them once. Original condenser too. The
weak points of the ignition system are the coil (I'm on my 3rd)
and the auto advance unit, so if you're not dispensing with
them, I wouldn't see much advantage. I have a shoebox full of
electronic ignition from Paul Friday, that in theory should
dispense with the points and create its own advance curve, but
it will be very difficult to work out how to install it.
