| FRONT BRAKE OVALITY | |
| By: exmoor beast Date: March 22, 2015, 4:11 am | |
| --------------------------------------------------------- | |
| My ex Yugo militare has had the usual hard life & the front | |
| wheel has been trued by some ham fisted squaddie with the effect | |
| of pulling the brake drum out of true. Initially I tried ridding | |
| the bike to see if the shoes was just rubbing a bit (like most | |
| Brit bikes do) but the handlebar lever was pulsing in & out | |
| quite dramatically. | |
| A new front hub would end up costing in excess of 200 from | |
| Italy so I have boxed the whole front wheel assembly off to | |
| Stotfold engineering in Biggleswade who are going to rebuild | |
| the wheel with a new rim, skim the drum & reline the shoes to | |
| suit. | |
| I will report back in a week or so's time with my findings. | |

| let them true the rim first , | |
| i have had the ovality of a brake drum disappearing after | |
| carefully trueing the rim | |
| if some ham fisted mechanic tried to get a bent rim straight by | |
| oulling the spokes , you can end up with a oval hub | |
