Due to a freak accident involving breaking the fabric of
spacetime, The portal to the Multiverse appeared, And then we
immediately closed it because it was darker than a black hole,
And theres spiders down there.
Any attempt to reopen the portal or trade anything in exchange
of the portal tech is welcomed.

Carolinian scientists who have been sent to an unknown location
and successfully reopened the portal. When they entered the
portal, they just found an empty room of darkness, but they
still planted a confederate flag. But in a sudden turn of
events, the portal reacted to the flag and sent them to a
strange place where the union won the civil war. They looked
around, thought it was the worst thing they had ever seen, and
left the portal. At this point it closed, but the machine used
to open the portal was still there. They then went to the
nearest maglev station and took their trains home. They would
return tomorrow and put something else in the portal, and
continue to do so until the government collected enough
information.
