No no no no, not slowly. They haven't even mobilized. You're |
|
declaring war. I know it. There's no other reason you'd screw up |
|
your economy with that large of a mobilization... |

A) I have a standing military of 4 million men and a bunch of |
|
reserves so basically 2.5 million men are being transferred to |
|
this point from their current positions. Their current positions |
|
are being replaced by reserves. So yes it will be slow. |

You don't have 2.5 million men who are readily available. That's |
|
economically impossible. 2.5 million men to pay, feed, clothe, |
|
maintain, and watch. And then move. |

OOC: I do. See my standing military is always in their house or |
|
at work. They don't live in military bases unless they are |
|
positioned there. But at a moments notice they can be called and |
|
will immediately leave to the closest base. Kind of like Navy |
|
Seals are? The difference with reserves are they aren't on 24 |
|
hour call. It takes much longer to mobilize them. So in this way |
|
Sparta can have a bigger standing military. |

Sparta, the navy seals are at most a couple hundred. You're |
|
talking about 2.5 MILLION MEN. Even if MREs are 2 bucks a pop |
|
that's over 5 million bucks. A meal. And you need three of them. |
|
The SEALS are ONLY on call because of their skill. You don't |
|
have 2.5 million men on a 24 hour call. That's impossible. |

OOC: No. My military doesn't serve them food. They live at home |
|
with their families, have jobs, and feed themselves. Because |
|
when boys turn 18 they must serve 3 years in the military. I |
|
would have an uprising if they couldn't stay with their families |
|
after training. Only like 500,000 live on bases and those are |
|
the professional soldiers. |

OOC: I feed them when they get to where I want them. Until then |
|
they bring their own food. |

Deepened rivers. Like the Susquehanna which empties into the |
|
Chesapeke Bay. That was said in my fact book that my navy had |
|
deepened the river and they were in charge of defending them. |
