| Study links sleep medications, insomnia to disability in seniors | |

| It may seem as if I focus too much on older people's problems | |
| with these posts. However, people with MS are living on into old | |
| age these days, and coping with aging seems to be far more of a | |
| challenge if you also have MS. On the other hand, if you | |
| developed MS when you were younger and have been affected by it | |
| to the point where you are disabled, you may find that you | |
| already know a thing or two about the needs of older people, | |
| just from having to adjust to MS. | |
| For aging people, less medicine is probably always better. If | |
| you can cut down safely on any meds you're taking as you get | |
| older, it's probably wise to do that. Aspirin in particular has | |
| its hazards for older people but there are many other | |
| drugs--most notably, any that affect the nervous system, such as | |
| sedatives. | |
