Good info. Personally, I always cringe when I hear some say
after cutting the grass they threw the clippings into the
chicken pen. The problem with that is that the chicken has no
way to break the grass into small pieces before ingesting.
Typically (if there is such a thing with chickens...), they
snatch/peck/break off small pieces of grass, leaves, flowers,
etc. These small pieces normally do not create a problem. But
when they have long pieces of cut grass and eat them, there is
always the potential for them to become entangled in the crop
and that can lead to a number of problems, including death if
not corrected.
My advice is to avoid through them cut grass. For me...better
safe than sorry.

started with chickens, an impacted crop with 4" long pieces of
grass!
