Day pen/play pen

This is my day pen that I keep close to the house for very young
chicks who are still in my spare bathroom most of the time. The
measurements are roughly 24 in square by 18 in tall. It took one
roll of hardware cloth, cable ties, the three hole PVC pipe
Corner fittings, and the pipe glue. The bottom is open. After
folding over the wire on the top, I cut another piece to fill
in. Then I cut a hatch. I folded the rough edges to the inside
so I wouldn't scratch my arms. I usually drape a blanket or
towel over one corner, to give them shade. The waterer also goes
in the shade. If I plan to leave the chicks out until dusk, I
put a kitty litter bucket, turned on its side, in the pen. They
will go in the bucket at dusk. Then I can pick up the bucket,
keeping it as level as possible and bring them all back inside.
I do not leave food out there
overnight.[IMG]

The top is stretched out where I have moved it around. I lay a
brick or board across the top to keep the hatch cover closed.
Since I ws sitting outside, I hadn't done it
yet.[IMG]
