HEY, WAKE UP! THIS PLACE HAS BEEN LIKE A MORGUE LATELY. |

Let's liven it up a little. |
|
Has anybody used LAMP BLACK to coat their pipes, or flat plates |
|
to help the collector absorb more heat? It seems that it would |
|
be the best coating for high temperature etc. |

Shhhhh! Don't wake everybody ;) I'm started building a |
|
solar heater. Planned to use cheap black paint on sprayflask |
|
from the local market but now i will look for this stuff |
|
instead. I saw this youtube about cans vs. flat plates (was |
|
some alu net i 3 layers). The conclusion was the made almost the |
|
same heat but the one with plating was faster to build. |

Hi |

Lampblack is soot from candles or oil lamps. It is carbon. I |
|
figured if mixed with a carrier like alcohol it could be painted |
|
on the collector surface. |
|
It may even have buckeyballs in it. |
|
The products with numbers like Solchrome would be good. |
