SOLGEN backup power

Laser Saber over at laserhacker.com came up with a marvelous
SOLN1 package that takes sun power and delivers it to a Super
Joule Ringer and standard inverter to power lights, radio,
etc... It is a convenient package.
I am working on something similar with a battery in box, solar
panel on top and hand cranked generator on the side with LJL and
standard inverter packaged together.
In a pinch this would provide low draw emergency lighting, and
110v AC power.
I will call it SOLGEN backup because it will always be trickle
charging but can be quick charged with man power using one of
the efficient alternators from LYNX wind.

Do you need to put it in a box, or could things just be
separate?

One of LYNX WINDS efficient alternators would be great to attach
to wifes exerise bike. Perhaps she can only watch TV when
pedaling ?
