May be I can put power to the led and get them to light on dc
power ( If they survived the melt down) but i don't know if they
are in series or parallel ? and how much voltage to try

Ok I got my eco smart leds (from scrap light bulb) running off
of 5, 9v batteries which are putting out about 40 v I also put
in a 470 ohm resistor on the + side . I took the old light bulb
frosted top that the light shines through and set it over the
leds and it looks as bright as the one I have running off of
12v (ljlsc) .

This morning I hooked it back up and read the amps that's its
using and it read .01 now that surprised me !
I read a lot yesterday and learned a lot about led (now if I
just can remember some of it ) I read that a led is like a solar
cell it will make power! and that if you don't know the forward
voltage of it you can hook it up to a volt meter and shine a
bright light on it and that will tell you it. I plugged that #
into the formula to see what resistor I needed in line. So if
you ever get a led light that wont work you still may be able to
get some use out of the led that are inside. (and boy my garage
still stinks of burnt electrical stuff )
