Freeware games and good mods
By: Kim Tyranto Date: May 5, 2021, 7:12 am

Discuss freeware games (in general, including fan games) and
game mods (also in general) for any game...
Like "Purple" (King linked to it in the hang-out)... and
"Nocturne" (and its remake)... and "Pokemon Insurgence"... and
"Tales of Maj'Eyal"... and more...
If the work has its own topic, feel free to revive the topic if
you want to... I have no issues with it... :-b

Played some of those way back in the day! I remember Purple, it
was alright, very cute but quite frustrating.
Was a huge fan of Tales of Maj'Eyal 4 in like 2011, when it was
still in beta and before they dropped the number. I was
impressed by it because you were on a huge epic adventure,
rather than just wandering off to go die in a hole which is what
a lot of old-school roguelikes are like. I played a human
berserker :3
After a while, I didn't like some change they made and swapped
over to its main competitor at the time, Dungeon Crawl Stone
Soup, which is also freeware. I still play an old version of
that from time to time. I played a draconian summoner in that
one.

Charlie usually picks whatever she wants, then uses cheats as
well... :-b
Myself, I prefer a human Paradox Mage... I believe the basic
Chrono-elemental spell in the XSP was based on Paradox Bolt or
something... though so far it only appears in text...
As for "Elona+", I am not a fan... but Charlie is, also cheating
there... like a Lv3000+ character with maxed stats...
Then there is "SuperTux", one game Charlie has not cheated at...
penguins can be cool...

I tried to play Purple once but my old laptop couldn't. Maybe
when get a lot of things finished, I'll download Purple and try
again. In regards to fangames, I remember watching videos for
Super Mario and the Pearls of Wisdom and Crash: Tiki Quest. As
for mods, MegaMan 4: Minus Infinity is one of the best mods I've
ever seen and there's also Kirby: Revenge of Dreamland which is
getting close to finished. MegaMan Star Force DX is also doing
really well in terms of development.
