* squawk *
I'm glad you mentioned four of my favourite "La-Mulana 1" songs.
;D
(a) What works would you like to mod?
(b) What would you like/hate in an RPG?
(c) If you woke up to find yourself in one anime, what anime
would it be?
(d) What is the silliest thing you've done this year?
a) Now that I'm leaving CSTSF behind, my options have increased
significantly. I'm heavily considering going into GBA modding
starting with either MegaMan Battle Network 5 (the only MMBN
game I've played), or Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland or Mario and
Luigi: Superstar Saga. If I had the skills, I'd also mod either
Digimon World: Dawn/Dusk or MegaMan Star Force.
b) Regarding likes/hates, I like RPGs that have multiple
endings, have a challenge that isn't too easy or hard, a great
soundtrack, a strong postgame, and all sorts of fun little extra
and hate it when RPGs force tutorials on players, use fake
difficulty/longitievty to make their games seem harder/longer,
hours of level grinding that either have no quick way to gain
levels or make them frustrating, "points of no return" that
screw over underleveled players, sidequests that are
tedious/practically require a guide, high enemy encounter rates.
c) Definitely Neon Genesis Evangelion, with me in Shinji's
place. And no, it wouldn't be any less traumatic either.
d) I'd definitely say that the Pizza Incident (having come to
the stupidly erroneous conclusion that you and Acacia were
living in Amercia) if only because I actually went and
researched US pizza prices and compared them to Acacia's
statements.

23. Wait 'til next year? Why's that, if I may ask?

Bebop"?
34a. Favourite Yu-Gi-Oh! attribute? (Dark, Divine, Earth, Fire,
Light, Water, Wind)
34b. Favourite YGO anime character? (I think you said you've
seen 5D's...)

4) The movie itself is fine, though it's hard for me to care for
Arthur Fleck's suffering because his transformation into the
Joker is a foregone conclusion.
10) Love is... a complex subject and manifests in many ways (I'm
still trying to understand if I loved Bloom or the idea of Bloom
Seymour). From what I can tell, love is a feeling of closeness
between two people, the enjoyment of their company (and having a
lot in common) and being able to see them as a full individual.
13) Considering they're on the New Nintendo 3DS
eShop, that makes them the SNES versions.
15) Eightlace? I dunno, I just came up with that
one considering it was the first name I thought of.
20) Level/Boss concepts, character/boss designs
for an RPG series I'm planning out. I'm currently doing a
mini-poster which has the party members and two EX Bosses from
the 4th entry in that series.
23) Skulduggery Pleasant: Seasons of War won't be
coming out until 2021, though sources seem to say that it was
released on April 2nd 2020.
28) I've actually got a list of anime I intend to
watch. Rather than tell you all of them, I'll just state the one
I'll watch after Cowboy Bebop. That anime would be Gungrave (and
I discovered that series after buying the original game from
CeX).
34a) I could go for Thunder, Divine or
Machine.
34b) It's been years since I watched any of the
anime, so I've got no real favourite.
42) I have. Dear lord, the Story Mode in that game
was hard as nails. As in, I managed to complete the Hero/Babylon
Stories with much struggle (and ended up using an Action Replay
to complete Sky Road because it was a nightmare to complete).
The game's OST is one of the greatest in the Sonic series, the
cutscenes are expressive though the game does do a poor job of
actually explaining how it's own mechanics work.
52) Level 4 Art and Design and Level 3 Game
Design.
56) Much like SaGa Frontier II/Persona 1+2, the
battle arenas are diagonal though battles play out like a more
advanced version of the Mario + Luigi games. The battle system
itself requires a bit of explanation:
In battles, players can choose to do the
following:
Attack (simply attack your chosen enemy)
Defend (defend which allows you take reduced
damage, unless the attack can be Guarded. Also prevents damage
from Special Attacks)
Tech Attack (i.e basically magic/attack moves that
use SP)
Change Elements (change which element your
character which changes some of their attacks)
Fuse Elements (fuse 2 elements to create a
stronger one. The Fusion Element has some exclusive skills,
though it mostly uses attacks from the emblems used to fuse it.)
Use Items (Use any items you have)
Flee (Escape the battle)
During combat, players choose their actions during
their turn. During enemy turns, the Reaction Battle System kicks
in: When enemies attack, the player can either Counter (Red;
counterattack enemies)
Guard (Blue; Guards against attacks, though it
doesn't protect against Special Attacks or status
effects)
Dodge (Green;dodge enemy attacks)
Special (Yellow; allows the player to use a
Special Attack if their Spectra Meter is full. Can be used to
force enemies to end their turn early)
This is displayed by a 4 button interface, with
the buttons glowing to indicate that the player can use that
option to deal with the attack. Time your reactions well and you
can very much avoid damage and really let your enemies have
it.
57) I suppose, though it does sound pretty
tough.
X1) Best Mega Evolution would be Mega Swampert and
Mega Mewtwo Y/Worst would be Mega Latios/Latias and Mega
Venusaur
X4) Malice Striker? I ended up coming up with one
called Dark Majesty, with it's second form resembling a Flower
Dragon in terms of design.

34a: ... definitely not a DARK Warrior then. (That's how I
imagined King of Despair, at least... complete with an axe to
grind.)
56: ... Wow *_*
That sounds amazing! I'm interested~.
... Anyway.
What is your go-to strategy for any game?

34a) I suppose King of Despair would actually be DARK type,
though he'd still have a sword (and both arm blades).
56) It's a system that took quite a bit of time to perfect (in
concept at least). The Pierre Bruno Instagram had a few images
(I still have the originals) which used an older version which
only had two buttons (Red;counter attacks and Blue; defend) That
said, I can imagine that I'd probably have to do a lot of work
on it once I actually make a game using that system.
=============
Regarding strategy, it often depends on the game. Considering
that most games I play happen to be RPGs, I try to get my team
kitted out with the best equipment, carry as many healing items
as possible and hit hard with my strongest moves (while using
status buffs/debuffs to keep the momentum going).
(If Shin Megami Tensei has taught me anything, it's always a
good idea to have healing skills myself along with powerful
moves.)

I wish you luck with your RPG! :)
So...
1. Zerker, Saurian, or Ninja?
2. What was the first freeware game you've played (that you can
remember)?
3. What colour lightsaber would you want to wield in a galaxy
far, far away?
4. Can I begin the Ritual for the Second Quiz Golem? >:)

1) Saurian (I liked the red colour).
2) If free flash games count, then I think Paper Mario World
may've been the first one.
3) Red (and yes, I do know that Sith use red. Then again so did
General Grevious if both players chose him in Star Wars: Revenge
of the Sith's Multiplayer)
4) You may. Initiate the ritual!

* cut to Charlie playing a Ritual Spell Card, only for a data
vampire to negate it with Magic Jammer *
... Oh. Er... just a minor technical issue, haha! :))
So, while I try to get around that, a question: may I give you a
test (as a Super Moderator)?

Sixty-six new questions! Lists don't need to be in any order,
and if you can't think of, say, ten things for them lists,
that's fine, too!
01. Top 3 most/least favourite Pokemon for each Generation,
design-wise? >:3
02. Funniest Pokemon-related moment you remember?
03. What'd your reaction be if the player in a Pokemon game got
a motorbike as a bicycle upgrade?
04. Your most/least favourite Trainer classes (that don't get
unique sprites, like Gym Leaders)?
05. What'd your Pokemon team be if you suddenly got transported
into the Pokemon world?
06. Ever play "La-Mulana" (freeware or remake), "Little Fighter
2", or a "Touhou" game?
