General Anime Thread
By: Bloom Date: September 1, 2019, 3:28 pm

Since Yui seems to be a big fan to the point of knowing the
names of zanpakuto, I'm starting this thread here.
Originally for Bleach, but now for general anime.
What's the best Bleach opening theme, anyway? Yui says it's #13
followed by #10, #5 and #3...

Double Post!
* thread takes x2 damage *
So, this is now a general anime thread.
Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokmon have their own threads, as does Ace
Attorney (I hear that got an anime).
To watch at some point:
- Neon Genesis Evangelion
- Spider Riders
... that's it?

Currently, the anime I have on DVD are Madoka Magica, Neon
Genesis Evangelion and Akira, the latter two I haven't watched
yet (though I've watched Neon Genesis Evangelion twice and also
End of Evangelion).
Other anime I've watched include:
Bakugan (with my brother)
Neon Genesis Evangelion
End of Evangelion
Rebuild of Evangelion 1.0 and 2.0
Madoka Magica
Perfect Blue
Persona 4: The Anime
Yu-Gi-Oh/Yu-Gi-Oh GX/Yu-Gi-Oh 5DS(with my brother)
Yeah, not very much.

"Yu-Gi-Oh!/Yu-Gi-Oh! GX/Yu-Gi-Oh!"
Whuh?
Well, their names get wackier, I'll admit.
"5Ds" (we have a 5DS now?).
"ZEXAL" (the "X" was silent in Japan?).
"Arc-V" (with its crazy Zarc plot where INTEGRATION SUMMON
exists).
"VRAINS" (sounds cyberspacey).
What next?
"7Luckiest"?
And don't get me STARTED on Powerpuff Girls-- wait, that's
Western Animation.
But... I wonder what Japan calls Western animation?
* asks JapanMan *
JapanMan: "Wakarimasen!"
Huh?

Huh, reminds of that time where all of Shane's forums were
called Astrum/Astrum GX/Astrum 5DS. Then things went off the
rails at some point.
Back to topic: if you do watch Neon Genesis Evangelion and
finish the series, I recommend that you watch End of Evangelion.
It's much darker than the series, but it's worth the watch.

I'm not letting this thread go to waste. Two weeks ago, I
decided to rewatch Madoka Magica in order to help me through my
despair. It was a great idea and I've only grown to love the
anime more now. Before I took the week off, I went and watched
Death Parade. For a 12 episode anime, it's neat. The show is
well animated, the characters are likeable and the premise
(arbitors judging dead souls by making them play games) is fun
for what it is. It's also more poignant than the OP would
suggest (kinda like how Madoka Magica is far darker than it's
OP), and while I do think it could use a second season, it was
fun for what it was though I doubt I'll rewatch it.
So far Neon Genesis Evangelion, Puella Magi Madoka Magica and
Revolutionary Girl Utena are my favourite anime, and I would
rewatch them again and again.

So, at least in South Africa, the Naruto Shippuden anime comes
to an end, apparently tomorrow.
Knowing what I've read about Boruto... well, no comment for now.
* looks at anime-to-watch list *
Did The World Ends With You get an anime adaption? ???

It did. Not sure when it'll come out or if will get an English
dub. That said, rewatched Madoka Magica and ended up thinking
about how timelines Homura must've gone through in order for
Madoka to become really powerful. Hopefully I'll make time so I
can start watching Cowboy Bebob (heard it's very good).
