What struck me was he didn't seem to think he had done
anything wrong. He seemed to think that hitting the boy was the
right thing to do. Yes, I think he may be dangerous. Who knows
what he might do?

In my other forum, many of them saying he did the godly thing.
they are the ones who are very political too to correct the
world.
I bet the kid was a lot smaller than this guy. I wonder
if he would have hit someone bigger than himself?
The people at this other forum approve of hitting someone just
because you're bigger than he is and can probably get away with
it? That's not obeying the Golden Rule to me. That man is a
bully. That's the kind of thinking the Catholics used to have
when they had the Inquisition and tortured people. They thought
they were saving people's souls. Thank goodness the Catholic
Church doesn't do that kind of thing anymore; but now it looks
as if a few other churches think violence is a good way to
convert people.

This kind of faith go along with approving to kill their enemy
too. They seem to believe they can judge anyone whom they don't
approve of.

A pastor hit a kid in the chest. I hope he is no longer a
pastor. And he better be glad that the kid didn't have to go to
the hospital or worse.
I found out more about this. He is still a pastor; but
after that video hit You Tube and enough people were outraged,
he seems to have had a change of heart. So he says anyway.
From nj.com
http://www.nj.com/bergen/index.ssf/2015/01/hasbrouck_heights_pastor_asks_forgiv…
The pastor of a Hasbrouck Heights church who said in a sermon
in July that he punched a boy in the chest says he deeply
regrets his actions.
"I do not condone abuse in any form," Pastor Eric Dammann of
Bible Baptist Church said. "I chose a very poor example from my
past and very poor wording to describe it and deeply regret
using it."
Dammann said he understood why people were outraged by a clip
posted on YouTube of a sermon in which he described punching a
boy named Ben for being a "smart aleck."
He was just not taking the Lord seriously. And I went over to
him and I went Bam. I punched him in the chest as hard as I
could. I crumpled the kid. I just crumpled him, Dammann says in
the July sermon.
The incident he describes took place 13 years ago, Dammann said.
"I was forgiven by Ben many years ago and can only ask the same
from my church, community and the world," he said.
His full statement follows:
I deeply regret my actions of 13 years ago. I do not condone
abuse in any form. I chose a very poor example from my past and
very poor wording to describe it and deeply regret using it. By
viewing the clip it is certainly understandable how outraged
people are. I acted out in one moment many years ago, it is not
how I believe people especially a pastor should act. My actions
were not reflective of Christ and the teachings of the Bible. I
was wrong, there no excuses to be made. I was forgiven by Ben
many years ago and can only ask the same from my church,
community and the world.

I do not know, Kerry, how this pastor can reconcile his videoed
statement with this confession that he has done wrong. The
video seems to imply that a physical assault of a kid is
justified given the circumstances. There is no qualification of
any sort in respect to the deed.
I am skeptical about the confession of sin. Perhaps I am
cynical . . .
I'm cynical too. I think the man very probably is a
"vile" person and probably apologized because it seemed to his
advantage. This may fit in with our conversation about the
Psalm.
