| It's a sin. . . . | |

| No, seriously, I think coconut would be good for you if you | |
| didn't overdo it. I've read | |
| https://www.coconutsecret.com/coconuthealthsecrets2.html | |
| that | |
| it's very healthy. | |
| Coconut oil is definitely healthier than most other kinds of | |
| oils. What do you think, Meshak? | |

| Ok, next question is: | |
| Are they saying we should replace other oil to coconut oil? | |
| You know we cannot afford too much calorie in our diet. Oil | |
| contains a tons of it. | |
| thank you:) | |

| Vegetable oils like soybean, canola, corn, or olive oil are | |
| better for you. I usually use olive oil or canola oil. | |

| This is old news now, it seem. They are saying coconut oil far | |
| better than anything else. | |
| I have been using olive oil or avocado. I have to replace them | |
| if it is better instead of taking them all. | |
| they are saying it is extremely good to prevent old timers | |
| disease. | |

| [/quote]I don't know, really. Today they say one thing, and | |
| tomorrow it's something else; but I think cottonseed oil is | |
| really bad. | |
| Some oils break down too under high heat. Olive oil is okay -- | |
| but you shouldn't fry things with it at high heat -- frying at | |
| gentle temperatures is okay. The high heat breaks it into | |
| unhealthy stuff. | |
| I wouldn't worry about the calories if no one in your house is | |
| gaining weight. People who eat a lot of greasy food often don't | |
| eat enough fruits and vegetables -- and I think that's what's | |
| bad there. Not enough vitamins and minerals -- and not enough | |
| fiber. | |

| Goodness, I was reading the other day how Chinese people are | |
| starting to get fat. When they get better paying jobs, they | |
| start buying junk like pizza and all the stuff that makes | |
| Americans and the British so fat. The Chinese traditional diet | |
| was very healthy. Mostly vegetables with a little meat, often | |
| stir fried in a little oil and then served with rice. | |

| Okinawan people lived long when they were poor, but they started | |
| eat like western, they are getting fat and live short lives. | |
| When they were poor, they could not afford meat and fish, their | |
| main food was veggies and sweet potatoes. Meat was for special | |
| occasions like twice a year. Now, they are eating meat every | |
| day. | |
| I think their short statues are because of their not so hearty | |
| meal. They did not take enough calcium. They did not eat full. | |
| But their poor food condition made them live long though. I | |
| remember I was always hungry. But we did not complain, we just | |
| accepted it. | |
| Eating too much is not good thing. | |
| I am Okinawan, BTW. | |

| the government; but I think the government should have done a | |
| better job of telling people not to eat so much because getting | |
| obese isn't healthy. The government usually waits until people | |
| are sick or dying before they do anything. | |

| Japanese aren't that tall even if well fed. Ever notice that | |
| when the Japanese Prime Ministers have their pictures taken with | |
| Americans or Europeans, they are usually sitting down? For | |
| some reason, they think it is a sign of being inferior or | |
| something to be short! Isn't that silly? | |
| Did you know that Japan has a law that tells employers they must | |
| do their best to help their employees to stay fit? They don't | |
| fine people for being overweight; but they will fine the | |
| employers if they don't try to help. From workforce.com | |
| http://www.workforce.com/articles/new-japanese-law-requires-employers-to-combat… | |
| A new Japanese law requiring employers to combat obesity in the | |
| workforce or face fines will not lead to punitive measures | |
| against overweight employees in America, Japanese firms say. | |
| The law that went into effect April 1 forces companies and | |
| government, the two sources of health insurance in Japan, to | |
| measure the body fat of employees between the ages of 40 and 74. | |
| Employers may be required to pay more into the national health | |
| care system if the waistlines of employees, their families and | |
| retirees exceed the governments limits of 33.5 inches for men | |
| and 35.4 inches for women. | |
| Unlike Japan, employers and government in the U.S. have been | |
| leery to punish people into losing weight, preferring instead to | |
| use financial incentives to reduce health risks, according to a | |
| recent Watson Wyatt survey that said such incentives had | |
| increased in recent years. Still, more employers are using | |
| strong tactics to outlaw smoking, and a National Business Group | |
| on Health survey of employees last year suggested they would | |
| support penalties aimed at obese workers. | |
| The fellow I don't understand is the North Korean President Kim | |
| Jong-un. With all the people underfed if not still starving in | |
| North Korea, he is quite fat. I'd be embarrassed to be that big | |
| with all the poor people in that country. | |

| Asians. | |
