Angels
By: James Date: August 30, 2013, 3:50 pm

What part do angels play in our every day lives?
The angels of children behold the face of God, the bible tells
us, does our angel leave when we grow older?
Have you spoken to an angel? I have not but I do believe they
are around us.

Again from personal experience I would say most commonly I have
heard and referred to ones guardian angel. At 35 years old I
think back to some things that happen when I was a child and I
know there were many incidents that I could have very well died
or been killed and yet I am still here alive. As well as
throughout my teenage years, such as when I first got my drivers
license and thought I was a race car driver, there were many
many incidents that I could have killed myself, and yet I am
still here alive. I have often credited this to my guardian
angel. Now that am a little older and a little wiser I do not
take as many risks as I once did as when I was younger, it is as
if I have given my guardian angel a bit of a break. There are
still times that things happen and I seem to escape death by the
skin of my teeth sort to say. Is that truly my guardian angel or
have I just been that lucky, that many times throughout my life?
I can think of so many times that I did things intentionally and
unintentionally were I could have been seriously injured if not
killed, and I think it hard to believe that I was just that
lucky to escape death over and over again. I do believe there
has to be some type of force that has prevented me from an early
demise, it just wasn't my time to go.
How all of this ties into the spiritual world, I have not yet
made a clear connection. Is it truly my guardian angel that God
put in charge over my life? Is it mere coincidence? A matter of
being lucky? I honestly cant call it; but I find myself
believing that it is indeed my guardian angel. I would like to
think that it would be with me until the end, possibly there to
help transfer over to the afterlife when the time comes that I
do take my final breath. Can I say that I know this to be truth?
Honestly no I cannot. Outside of these experiences I have not
put any other thought to what or how angels play into my life. I
didn't help to answer any of your questions and may have just
added more to question; but I thought I would add my two cent,
my perspective on angels. I will also add that one thing I do
not believe in is when losing a loved one, I do not believe they
become guardian angels. If there is an afterlife I would imagine
they are continuing in there own experiences and journey into
the afterlife and do not have the connection to us in this
physical world which would only seem to hold them back from
continuing in there journey. I think it selfish to want for a
Loved one to have to spend the next several years watching over
us.

I've talked to some angels. The longest series of
conversations was with an angel who instructed me when I was
reading the book of Revelation. He would not tell me things
outright; but he would tell me to look this or that up. He was
never wrong. If he told me to look something up, I found out
why he told me that. Things made sense.
I'd be reluctant to go into those conversations though since I
was inadequate in large part and believe I still not understand
things all that well. I would not want to repeat my conclusions
then as God's truth.
I was praying once for a certain thing and an angel told me,
"Your prayer will be answered within six months." I wrote the
date down and generally forgot about it. I heard on the news
when the prayer was answered; yes, I got what I asked for. Was
the angel right about the date? He was. It was six months less
a day or two.
Many people's angels do leave them as they get older. Too many
sins can grieve the Guardian Angel. It is then a matter of
entreating it to return. Most people cannot do it. Perhaps no
one can for all I know. I would say that is the major reason we
need the intercession of the Christ Spirit. If the Christ
Spirit is accepted, it can deal with things our Guardian Angels
either aren't equipped or wiling to do -- so it seems to me
anyway. Angels can err, and perhaps our Guardian Angels err by
abandoning us, but I don't blame them.
Angels are part of God, I would say, just as burning coal taken
from a fire is part of the original fire. Draw nigh to God and
God will draw nigh to you does not mean the omnipresent God is
moving around. Rather it means attracting the Guardian Angel,
and then the Star. Few people can believe in the spiritual
Stars; but each of us is really a Star. In a way, it's also
incorrect to say we "have" Guardian Angels. They are "part of
us." Or we should be "part of them."
There is supposed to be a connection with the Star and the
Guardian Angel above with the physical bodies and souls below.
They should act as one.
I follow the Jews on this. I believe the angel Jacob wrestled
with was the Guardian Angel of his brother Esau (and of all the
Edomites). That angel had erred. Jacob's mission was to
reconcile Esau and his Guardian Angel which had deserted Esau,
leaving him without a spiritual covering.

I've never talked to an angel but there have been times when I
felt like I was being warned about certain people or certain
places like being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I used
to think these were coincidences but now I wonder about that
because those were just too many coincidences. I would like to
think it was a guardian angel. :)

^ Probably was your Guardian Angel. It's like a thought shows
up and you know it's not yours -- that someone else thought it
and sent it to you? People who hear audible voices probably
are not hearing from an angel.
Sometimes I can tell where the angel is -- I just know it's
there and where it is. The ideas go back and forth.
I heard someone say something on Coast to Coast the other night.
You never know about the guests on that show. Some are out
there; but this guest said that the world would not have to go
through as hard a time as had been expected. Now I've been
praying off and on about that for years, praying for mercy
that things could be less severe, for extension of time if
possible, and praying too that others would pray. So when that
guest said that, I asked myself if it could be true, and an
angel told me it was. So maybe there won't the totally
devastating global bloodbath I've been expecting. While I
expect "pangs of childbirth," it probably won't be as bad as it
might have been.

^No it wasn't an audible voice. I think if I heard an audible
voice it would probably scare me. :D Yes it was like a thought
and not mine because I couldn't have known these things.
I hope you're right that things won't be as bad as expected.
Sometimes things seem so bad in this world and getting worse. I
just pray, have faith and trust that God will work things out
for the good. I think it would be a good idea if everybody got
rid of their televisions. I rarely watch tv and avoid the
mainstream news.

[/quote]I listen to news mostly to find things to pray about;
but I got so tired of the junk on TV that I canceled the cable
years ago. I was watching mostly the channels I could get with
an antenna anyway. Then one night I was bored and turned it
on; and I was disgusted by it again. When they changed the
broadcasting standard, I didn't get one of the adapters.

I have just read this old thread.
Why would some of you say that an angel spoke to you saying
"this or that"..How did you know that it was an angel and not
God's Holy Spirit speaking?
In Kerry's case,... the bible says that the Holy Spirit is The
Teacher.
And in Cathey's case, what prompted you to feel it was an angel
warning you and not The Spirit?
Just interested....thanks. :)

Hi James,
Yes, I have spoken to angels as well as have heard their
heavenly choir and have seen at least one also.
I think that the part that they play in our every day lives
depends upon how much we let them. I ask my angels for all kinds
of things ... usually some kind of assistance, or to go and give
a message to another's guardian angel. So, I also think that
sometimes an angel is sent to us by another through their prayer
or request to help us in a time that we need assistance. We see
these angels as a physical person. If we don't see them, then
others see them around us when we need protection.
I think also that the number of angels around us increase...
more are assigned to us as we get closer to God. Jesus had...
what was it... 12 legions that He could call upon for
assistance. That's a lot of angels!
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have
entertained angels unawares. Hebrews 13:2
Yes, very definitely angels are around us.
