The other side of 'me'.
By: Mike Date: February 21, 2013, 11:53 am

On the one hand I am still the evangelical fundamentalist of my
youth, whereas on the other hand I have embraced a radicalism
that borders on Unitarianism.
You've seen the latter in the NT canon thread now see the first.
Deeply etched in my heart is the childhood memory of standing on
the sea front of Sheringham on summer Sunday evenings in the
company of the local Salvation Army and singing their signature
tune 'The Saviour's Name'

I so agree. In fact I'd go as far to say , even when my own
belief system takes a little change of course ...I can still
lustily sing the "old songs of Zion" ( even if only agreeing 90%
with every word) Back-then, I believe as much anointing was
given for the melody as to the words.
Then sings my soul.....

Something is deeply "etched" within you Mike and
it is certainly something more than a simply childhood memory of
even very good things in your past. You, along with others, are
searching, and that is what Jesus wants us to do, and, I
believe, to keep on doing.
"Seek and ye shall find", yes, and as the seeking continues, so
also does the finding. Sometimes we will think that we are
retracing our own steps and in sense perhaps we are, but it is
like re-reading the Bible. When we read the same verse the 2nd
and the 3rd time and then again ad infinitum will we ever stop,
from time to time, receiving yet again something from it that
we have never seen before?

The words were also addressed to me, although not
intentionally. I am very serious in saying that. Sometimes when
God gives me words for someone else, it turns out they also
apply to me..

It is the anchor of my faith that is deeply etched within me.
I call it 'Christ within, by the power of the Holy Spirit'
