It was a cold November morning when he walked out
of the barracks and across the parking lot into the field. In
the wind, he stepped through the stubble of the cut hay and
observed in the distance the antelope warily watching him. They
gradually moved off not liking his company.
There was a howling sound in the wind, the vibration of several
power lines above him as he reached a road to cross. Beyond it,
he could see the base lakes and the cattails that surrounded it,
swaying in the wind.
The Spirit is like the wind, he thought. It is elusive. It
comes and it goes in our perception. It brings meaning and
purpose, and we sorely miss it when we do not perceive it. The
Spirit encompasses us all.
The man stopped. He sensed the wind and Spirit about him and
within him. He was in the center of the universe.
I read that as a description of the chariots of the Spirit with
the individual in the center.

I haven't thought of it that way, Kerry. The motions of the
Spirit can produce rapture, an exhilarating emotional flight or
exaltation. I have experienced those feelings when touched by
the Spirit. Also, another experience may occur, the abstraction
into inwardness, a withdrawal into a great silence, where one
perceives that one is at the center of it all, of the universe.
That has happened to me as well. This second meaning was what I
was thinking about when I wrote A Moment In The Wind.

I don't have the skill for creative writing. If I did I might
consider writing a book.

I have reposted your comment here in this thread, Heartsong,
since this is the place for comments regarding Moments In Time
thread.
I think, Heartsong, that you could post your poetry on the other
thread. You have a gift for poetry. Why not do that?
As we're getting older and going increasing into poor health,
our creativity is a vital link to life and should be pursued.
I wish you the best.

I thought I'd contribute to the discussion of "Why does Paul say
drunkenness is a sin?" in the short composition in Moments In
Time, "The Police Had Arrived". The social consequences of
alcoholism are very grave and I thought I'd venture into a view
of how it damages families in the context of a story.
My family, regrettably, had many semi-alcoholics as had many
other people. :-[

It's rather embarrassing to see how I've declined in my writing
because of my health issues. I have revised the short Moment In
Time writing, "Escaping Assault". I'm sorry that I've inflicted
an article upon everyone that had so many textual problems with
it. I think that I've corrected most of the issues.
Love God Only has become rather quiet right now. As shadows
have come upon our world, I think it is just for as well.
I wish everyone the best. May Christ be with you all!
Don't be too concerned about feeling embarrassed. It
might be God's way of teaching us humility? I find myself
hitting wrong keys on my keyboard and not realizing it until
after I posted it.
I'm having trouble understanding exactly what happened with Tim
Sheehy in the park.
https://www.thedailybeast.com/gop-montana-candidate-tim-sheehy-says-he-lied-to-…
Supposedly he lied to avoid getting into trouble; but there are
still many things in that story I don't understand. If it was
an old wound, why would the ranger be fooled into thinking it
was a new one as the result of accidentally firing of his gun? I
have a lot more questions than answers.
At any rate, Trump endorsed him, so he's probably going to be
the nominee for Senate from Montana. It might make a good
subject for a story.

It's gotten worse for me, Kerry, in the last six months. I'm
reluctant to post when I'm writing so poorly. I'm inclined only
to wait for those time periods when I'm feeling okay about it.
I'm beginning to have that problem with reading as well.
I'm thankful that I'm still working doing data entry in SCSEP.
I think my job is postponing my inevitable mental decline. It
forces me to think and to keep my mind active.

The story makes no sense to me. If he or any man in his fire
team was injured after a mission, it would have to be reported
to the squad leader. Any person failing to make that report
would be in serious trouble if it were not reported. In theater
actions, all injuries would need to be reported so that the
authorized medical care could be delivered. This would be
seriously important. Any special forces member, either officer
or enlisted has to be mission-ready at all times.
I'm inclined to think that Sheehy accidently shot himself. If
he was going to quietly shoot himself for some clandestine
reason, he could have done it on his own ranch where he wouldn't
risk discovery. That he didn't makes me think it was
accidental.

His competitor dropped out of the running, I understand. There
is little difference between them. They both came to Montana,
obtained residency, and ran for Congress despite little
familiarity with our state. The Republicans have been running
these carpetbaggers into the state for over 50 years.

I play games online. Sudoku especially demands my attention if
I want to solve the puzzle. Level 4 is a bit too tough for me.

I've played Chess and Go online to keep my mind more mentally
competent. It's a hard struggle and I'm losing many games when
I play. It is very depressing. I've found that writing is the
best thing for me. It is sad how far I've fallen from it.
