The Vision of Isaiah 2:1-5 Soon to be Fulfilled

The Vision of Isaiah 2:1-5 Soon to be Fulfilled
The vision of Isaiah 2:1-5 depicts the aftermath of the Battle
of Armageddon, when Jesus will have returned to establish the
Kingdom of God upon the earth, with the Temple built and Jesus
will be reigning as King / Priest on the Throne of David in
Jerusalem. The significant remnant of the Jews will be converted
and the surrounding nations subjected. These nations will come
up to Jerusalem to worship and to learn Gods ways.
Isaiah 2:15 (KJV): 1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw
concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2 And it shall come to pass in
the last days, that the mountain of the LORDS house shall be
established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted
above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3 And many
people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the
mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he
will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for
out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD
from Jerusalem. 4 And he shall judge among the nations, and
shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into
plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not
lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any
more. 5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light
of the LORD.
Events over the years have been happening slowly, but the pace
could now be quickening up and we need to be prepared for the
return of Jesus. The Temple was destroyed in AD 70, and the Jews
were taken into captivity and Jerusalem had been trodden down by
the Gentiles for most of the last 2000 years Luke 21:24. But
there has been a gradual progress towards the fulfillment of
Isaiah 2. There have been many contributing factors, and many
milestones. Mentioning a few, there was Theodor Herzl and his
advocacy of a Jewish State in 1897, the Balfour Declaration in
1917, the gradual return of the Jews to the Holy Land as
prophesied, the formation of the State of Israel 1947-1948, the
recapture of Jerusalem in 1967 in fulfillment of the 2300 years
of Daniel 8:13-14. We have yet to determine the outcome of the
present troubles, and most probably things will settle down for
a while, but it is possible that the present troubles and the
realignment of nations against Israel will set up and
precipitate the events surrounding the Battle of Armageddon.
Blessed is he that watches and loves the appearing of our Lord
Jesus Christ who will soon come to establish the Kingdom of God
upon the earth as prophesied in Isaiah 2:1-5, Revelation 16:15,
2 Timothy 4:1,6-8.
Kind regards
Trevor

is that there is a period of possibly 50 years between the
return of Jesus and the full establishment of the Kingdom. So I
believe that the Temple will be built during this 50 year
period, possibly starting at say 10 years since the return of
Jesus and then taking say 20 years to complete.

What do you think, TrevorL, of the prophecies concerning Donald
Trump? Many MAGA people believe that he is a Christ prophesied
in Isaiah 45 and that it is a sin to disbelieve or disobey him.
How does he relate to your idea of the future Kingdom?
Religion and politics here in Australia is rather a
placid affair by comparison to the strange circumstances in the
USA. If the Presidential election is between Trump and Biden
then I would imagine that this would be part of the decline of
the USA. Also such religious extremes are very typical of the
USA and speaks of these latter days where many have turned aside
to empty and shallow teachings rather than the solid foundations
of true Bible Prophecy and also the substantial standards of the
true Christian way of life.

I would say, TrevorL, that it is not so much a decline in the
USA as the USA is being a part of a world-wide resurgence of
fascism. There are the likes of Boris Johnson, Viktor Orban,
etc., that are raising serious problems in many countries.
Trump is only a prominent American symptom of the problem.

I would agree. It is fascinating to watch how MAGA has
undermined the American Evangelical and Catholic churches. Many
of these churches are on the border of schism. Many have
already suffered a mass apostasy similar to what happened in
Germany in the years before the Third Reich. It seems that many
white American Christian fascists no longer accept Jesus'
command to love one's neighbor as oneself, or to do unto others,
etc. For these people, they prefer Donald Christ of Brooklyn to
Jesus Christ of Nazareth. It is all very strange, this love for
the Orange Jesus.
The world-wide fascist movement does have a limited shelf life,
though. Eventually, most people get tired of all the grift, the
mendacity, and the chaos.
Jesus offers much better than fascism. You would be surprised
at the increased venom aimed at Christians. Hitler in his
Table Talk spent most of his hidden conversations attacking
Christians and speaking of a time of reckoning with them after
the war and after his solving "the Jewish Problem".

Greetings again Kerry, [quote author=Kerry
link=topic=1580.msg34580#msg34580 date=1703367659]My take on it
is different. Doesn't the man of perdition stand in the Temple
first?
Although this Antichrist understanding is
popular, I consider that this is based upon a wrong idea
introduced by the Jesuits to deflect attention from the Roman
Catholic Church at the time of the Reformation when the RCC was
accused of being the Antichrist system by the early Protestants.
Looking at the relevant Scriptures:
Daniel 7:1920 (KJV): 19 Then I would know the truth of the
fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding
dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass;
which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with
his feet; 20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of
the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of
that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great
things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
This is a description of the Papacy who persecuted the faithful,
and this was for a period of 1260 years from AD 520-533 to AD
1789-1792 and AD 610 to AD 1870.
Paul is alluding to this development of the Apostasy:
2 Thessalonians 2:312 (KJV): 3 Let no man deceive you by any
means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling
away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of
perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is
called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in
the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye
not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6
And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in
his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only
he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall
consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the
brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the
working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that
perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that
they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them
strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they
all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure
in unrighteousness.
I believe that many Evangelical Christians will join with the
Papacy to oppose Christ when he returns and establishes Himself
in Jerusalem.
Kind regards
Trevor

I would like to add a few more perspectives on Isaiah 2:1-5.
I had heard that there was a plaque or inscription of this
passage somewhere near the United Nations building. I did a
search and there is a very large inscription on a nearby wall,
and one very clear picture has the following description: A
1958 view of the famous biblical swords into
plowshares/ploughshares quote engraved on steps on First Avenue
opposite the new United Nations building in New York, USA in
1948. The quotation is from Isaiah 2:4.
There is also a bronze statue in the grounds of the UN donated
by the USSR in 1959 and the picture that I viewed has the title
attached which says Let Us Beat Swords Into Plowshares. The
statue depicts a swarthy blacksmith beating a sword into a
plough.
Perhaps never before in recent history does this depict the
failure of the UN to bring about peace and the final cessation
of war. The war in Gaza rages on, and Russia is at war with
Ukraine.
Another perspective is the context of Isaiah 2:1-5. I suggest
that the prophecy was given during the reign of Uzziah, a king
noted for his military prowess and skilful instruments of war.
The rest of Isaiah chapter 2 prophecies of an earthquake and we
need to refer to Amos 1:1 and Zechariah 14:5 to find out that a
major earthquake happened during Uzziahs reign.
Uzziah may have brought peace for a while, but it was not
lasting, as Israel and Syria started to invade Judah in Ahazs
reign and then the Assyrian power started to make inroads into
Israel and Judah. It was not until Hezekiahs time, and
Hezekiahs great trust in God and his intercessory prayer that
Isaiah 2:1-5 became typically fulfilled.
I suggest that Isaiah 2:1-5 speaks out clearly against Israel
and their present trust in their armaments and warfare, and in
this they are like Uzziah. In contrast it will only be when
Jesus returns as the Prince of Peace that Isaiah 2:1-4 will be
fulfilled. Jesus is the greater fulfilment of all that was
typified by the sufferings and exaltation of Hezekiah.
Kind regards
Trevor
I would say it describes the secular Roman Empire. The
Popes often helped prop up the government, thus entangling
themselves in politics; and then the Protestants came along and
helped prop up worldly leaders who rebelled against what was
called the "Holy Roman Empire."
