Racism ?
By: twinc Date: August 11, 2019, 8:26 am

WHY are odd one off remarks about racism the cause of much
concern and an outcry whilst real and actual racism is covered
up and ignored - a blatant case in point being Kashmir where
they refuse to live together in peace and harmony - many have
already been killed with no doubt many more to follow - imho
Pakistan has no claim to Kashmir nor to Pakistan itself which is
a hugh piece of Indian land carved out to solve the problem of
refusal to live together and cost thousands of lives[men, women
and innocent children] - imho - any comments - twinc
The problem there now is more religious than racial.
Part of the blame rests with how India and Pakistan were created
when the British Empire decided to leave the area. Before the
British had arrived, there was no country like India or
Pakistan. The area was ruled by various kings. The British
made them all one country, more or less.
When the British were leaving, they thought it best to let the
Muslims have their own country and the Hindus theirs. There
were problems with that. One was that there were Muslim areas
on both the west and east, so the new country of Pakistan
consisted of an East Pakistan and a West Pakistan. That didn't
work out too well, since the Muslims in the two areas were often
at odds with each other. There was a war over that.
The problem with Kashmir was that the people were mostly Muslim
but their King or Maharaja was a Hindu. Which of the new
countries should Kashmir be put in? The British left it up to
the Maharaja who wanted to be in India.
I would not want to count the wars fought over borders
established when the Europeans left their colonies. Certainly
the war in Vietnam wasn't a racial war -- it came about because
the French got things all mixed up and then refused to do what
they promised. Wars and other violence in Africa are still
happening because of how borders got drawn. Tribes that had
been independent before they were colonized and who had had
their own areas were shoved together in a new country. Sometimes
those tribes hated each other, and the Europeans still told them
to be a country.
Don't forget too how Iraq invaded Kuwait over a disputed border
that the British drew up. Don't forget that Muslims, Jews and
Christians lived peacefully in Palestine under the Turks. The
British took it away in a war; and when they withdrew, the
fighting began almost as soon as borders were drawn.
Surely too, we can't see the unrest in Hong Kong now as racial.
Again, it's borders that got drawn up as the result of the
British being in Hong Kong. The people in Hong Kong today want
the same rights they had under the British and which they were
promised for fifty years as part of the agreement when the
British withdrew.

here again it goes unnoticed that the first ones to complain
about occupation are Muslims who themselves have occupied the
very lands they are claiming as theirs - this even applied to
India[Hindustan]which was under Muslim/Mongol/Mogul thrall for
hundreds of years until the arrival of Clive and the East India
Companies - there were indeed Maharajas but the Emperors before
the British were all Muslims viz Akbar/Auranjeb/Jehangir/Shar
Jehan etc - the very Taj Mahal is a Muslim edifice that tells
the history - twinc
How is it then that the ruler of Kashmir was a Hindu as
were many other princes of India?

NB - Princes not Emperors - right down in the south the ruler of
Hindu Hyderabad was a Muslim and the ruler of Patiala was a Sikh
