I didn't see those movies but I read the books and I liked them.
There was another woman I was talking to recently and I think
she said she liked one or the other of them. If I come across
them, I'll check them out. I read a lot of books back in the day
to learn some about life and all, (I liked Flaubert because it
was real and some Russian guys, Dickens and a bunch of others. I
can hardly remember them but I still have them somewhere.) not
realizing that I was living it with the stuff happening to me
that it did so I stopped reading and watched movies instead.

Whew! I thought I was gonna get a scolding for my previous post
like I sometimes do from some women who say the don't like my
attitude about some movies like that.
Anyway, Diane Keaton's okay like in that movie Reds with Warren
Beatty and Jack Nicholson.

you like The Beatles and the 60s:

I would recommend the Pride and Prejudice (1996) television
series instead of the movie. Of course, I like Colin Firth and
Jennifer Ehle.

Concerning some of the other movies, I've always admired Jane
Eyre and like all the movies that have told that story.
I don't like much "Wuthering Heights"in either cinema or print.
I do not think much of Heathcliff. I don't think he likes
people much and I don't think that he loved the main female
character, Cathy. He too much projects his anger onto other
people and fails to see himself as he should ... :(

[/quote]I'm not sure we're supposed to like him that much. . . .
It's been a while since I read the book, and I didn't
understand parts of it until other people in my class gave their
reactions. I really didn't care for him at all and couldn't
get that was part of the point. What is it about the anti-hero
type that some people find attractive?
