Bill Cosby's Alleged Victims React to His Sex Assault Mistrial:
'It Ain't Over 'Till It's Over'
After a Pennsylvania judge granted a mistrial after a jury
announced they were deadlocked for the second time in the sexual
assault trial of Bill Cosby, one of the actor and comedians
multiple accusers is speaking out about what that means.
Its not an acquittal, Tamara Green, a retired California
attorney who first came forward with allegations against Cosby
in 2005, tells PEOPLE of Saturdays mistrial.
She adds, I have faith in the jury system of the United
States.
The comedian is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting
former Temple University employee Andrea Constand at his Elkins
Park, Pennsylvania, mansion in January 2004. The District
Attorney has already announced that they plan to retry Cosby in
the case.
The six-day trial followed a lengthy scandal in which dozens of
women have come forward with stories of how Cosby, 79, allegedly
sexually abused and assaulted them over decades. The Cosby Show
alum has denied every claim.

The prosecution has something like four months to ask for a
retrial or something like that.
With all those accusers and accusations, it appears it will go
on for some time.

[/quote]I don't know the reason for it, but the judge in this
case did not allow all the women who could have testified to do
so. If his goal was to save time, his plan backfired, resulting
in a hung jury and possibly another trial thus not saving any
time whatsoever.

Johnson is testifying for the prosecution under a Pennsylvania
law that permits someone with a claim of sexual assault that was
never prosecuted to testify against their alleged assailant in
other cases.
Before the trial, prosecutors sought permission to call 13
accusers whose testimony, taken together, might show that Cosby
had a pattern of using drugs to commit sexual assault. Judge
Steven T ONeill permitted just one of those women, Kacey, to
testify.
It seems pretty obvious to me the man's guilty; and I think if
all 13 had been allowed to testify, the jurors wouldn't have had
the slightest doubt about it.

Kerry -
I was watching CBS news this morning (I prefer CBS for their
less breathless, more measured reporting/news-reading). It had a
lady legal expert on and she said that the prosecution had up to
a year to ask for a retrial and that the statute of limitations
goes in effect for all the other accusers for criminal cases. I
understand that he can be tried civilly, however.
Ya, something's up it appears especially with up to 40 accusers.
