I don't know about it being rigged, but Lloyd said she was |

shocked to hear of her win. My understanding is that the voters |
|
weigh heavily on the side of international matches. She had 17 |
|
goals and and 21 assists for the USWNT this way in 2016. The |
|
voters are comprised of 50% captains and coaches of national |
|
teams worldwide and 50% fan and about 200 select media |
|
representatives voting. Maybe most of the fans and media who |
|
cared were American? I don't know. In any case, go, go, USA. |

The media get to vote? Maybe the award was a belated wedding |
|
gift. Perhaps the media were probably influenced by the news of |
|
her recent marriage. |
