You may have noticed the slight change in the rules. I will |
|
confess now to having kept quiet about something which I think I |
|
should make public; and that involves other forums. |
|
When this forum was formed, most of the members came from Mike's |
|
site in unfortunate circumstances. The last thing I wanted was |
|
to turn this forum into a place where people complained about |
|
Mike or attacked him. Nor did I want people running into other |
|
problems in other forums and coming here to kvetch. I believe |
|
the fact that you were all well behaved here without complaining |
|
or attacking Mike made it easier to repair things. |
|
Unfortunately that site went kaput. It doesn't look as if Mike |
|
will resurrect it. |
|
He had also started another site called Religious Convictions. |
|
His intention when setting it up was to allow for a freer |
|
expression of ideas, perhaps even a wilder expression. When |
|
his first site crashed, the other one picked up a bit; but then |
|
Mike got weary of it too and shut it down. I asked him to |
|
resurrect it and he did, and he then resigned and handed over |
|
the role of admin to me. |
|
Some members here already know about it, but perhaps some don't. |
|
I'd rather tell you now than have you think I was concealing |
|
something because I didn't want people to know. It is a |
|
different type of site. I intend to be rather lax there, not |
|
doing much moderating. |
|
Instead I've given different members their own boards; and if |
|
you have a board, you moderate it. You can edit and delete what |
|
others write on your board. It's also possible to set up a |
|
board so the moderator can kick people out of his group. That's |
|
to encourage politeness. |
|
So if you want to join the other site, feel free. If you don't, |
|
that's fine with me too. If you want your own board there, |
|
just send a PM to me there with the details of what you want. |
