Even if someone on these sites IS sharing the "truth", who
want's to listen to in your face attitude? And, what if that
person has just not grown enough to understand humility yet?
And, so what if they are not as far along in their faith to
actually see the truth...yet? If they are honestly seeking
God's truth...they will find it one way or the other.
I was also wondering if we could tag people here, guess not :/

Agree Nancy...the ONE big thing missing on here is the @Tag and
Alerts :( :( :(

I think the time has come for us to stop discussing what seems
unlikely to be changeable.
Those who post in a way that some feel to be excessively
dogmatic are doing so out of the feelings of their hearts, and
only the Holy Spirit can (if indeed there is a need) change a
person's heart. Same goes for the hearts of those who feel
oppressed by the posting of some members, and same goes for the
hearts of those who are not oppressed by the posting of some (or
even 'any') members.
The exhortation to "admonish one another" was given by Paul and
Timotheus to the saints and brethren (as an aside, does saints
and Brethren mean Jews and Gentiles) at Colosse, at a time when
there was no such thing as cyberspace interaction and maybe
should not be applied by today's believers, other than in face
to face or snail mail communication.
Any way, we don't seem likely to do any good with our discussion
about dogmatism so I suggest that it would be better if Admin
locked the thread.
After all said and done it is only cyberspace 'words' that we
are talking 'in and about' and we're all big boys and girls in
Christ and those that are offended ought be able turn a blind
eye to posts that offend.
Can we not just rely upon the fact that this particular forum
does at least have a 'balance' that will always lean more
towards 'tolerance' than most forums that harvest membership
from 'first page' discovery via SEO.

A bit of a long winded way to just say- " hey I think you'd
like to see this post "
But we lived before @tagging, I am sure we will survive.
Just like we survived before computers, iPads and cell phones!!
LOL

All is well Mike, no worries.
Scott asked a question and everyone is entitle to add their 2
cents worth. :)
There have been some good responses here.
All responses are very welcome. There are no babes here....and
I need the feed back ( even if I don't like it :) ) ...to keep
my feet on the straight path or I may get out of line.

Yes, it's made interesting reading - it certainly isn't a
discussion that needs locking Mike - I believe that belongs to
threads that become argumentative in a negative way.

I guess I read the mode wrong by suggesting a 'lock'. ;)

doesnt that have to mean that one is saying they know the truth,
Scott? :)
You say that as if surprised, as if the truth had never been
spoken. But it has. And, yes, Jesus said it best, "We know of
what we speak."

One thing that always struck me about the story of The Rich
Young Ruler is that when Jesus spoke to him, actually before He
even spoke a word, we are told that "He looked at him and
loved him." I seldom see that in all the
[U]"correcting" so many people do swearing they are
doing God's will.
I agree...but not because correcting is wrong, but because even
those who do not know the truth are allowed to pick up the sword
and wheeled it also. Nonetheless, correction is biblical.

Yes. I agree that the discussion is good. Disagreement is to be
expected. Locking like banning should be, as I see it, the very
last resort here.
