Chatter * Update* Thread
By: Helen Date: September 3, 2014, 8:10 am

We need a place to drop info, updates and chatter :D
In the deep mid winter' ( no I'm not going to sing! ha! ) but in
winter my life shrinks somewhat. For me it is bed ...to
bathroom..to kitchen..to living
room/computer...kitchen...bathroom..."treadmill...living
room/computer ...bathroom ...bed. With two half days Weds &
Thurs at work!!!
So, it is interesting knowing what the other half are doing ;D
I happen to know that yesterday Pat was out all day, enjoying a
lovely cruise on a canal boat with afternoon tea with great
friends. That helps me 'picture' her. I also picture her in her
lovely garden.
I know Laurie likes to fish, and I can picture her there.
Anyway...here is our "Chatter" thread..I hope it gets used lots.
I find it handy to have on the days when the Lord has not given
us anything much to 'say', but it is a day of coming on here
just to read...and then maybe just pop a line on here, even if
it is only to say " Nothing to add today, but I am here
reading."

Maybe I am just nosy...I just love knowing what everyone is up
to. 8)

I'm a bit ill with a cold today but throwing tablets down myself
because, Thursday and Friday I'm building a small extension on a
friends home and need to get the shell up, Saturday and Sunday
we are staying at a friends house (house sitting) because he is
motorcycling around Europe for two months. Monday to Friday we
are having a short break at Filey on the east coast getting home
on Friday night for my night shift.

Yes we had a lovely afternoon yesterday but today I have been to
the doctors with Ray who went about his cataracts. We did eat
out though; chicken mayos from McD's and coffees from the burger
van. My guy knows how to treat a girl.
Your life sound rather interesting at the mo Ivor and Helen you
sound like you're winding down for winter.
I think this thread is a good idea because if we get to know
each other in small personal ways then it easier to be
respectful when in discussions.

Oh sorry to hear that you have the snots Ivor..'tis the season.
It has already started here too.
Dave and I usually take a homeopathic product in late September
and again in January..it's an anti flu booster for the immune
system. We don't take the 'flu shot', that contains mercury and
most years it doesn't contain the right flu vaccine for coming
winter's flu!! Half way through the season on the News it say,
"Sorry folks the flu season is bad this year as the vaccine mix
did not have the right type of flu antidote" ( or whatever it's
called)
So far our homeopathic has done well, and is safe. (It is taken
once a week for three weeks, before the flu season starts)
Hoping you have a nice restful time away and that the weather is
good. Have fun.
Our last two days have been yucky. Rain, wind and cold...we have
our heat on so we are cozy.
Pat, Neil had one cataract done a few weeks ago and found a
great difference. He could then see every hair on his eyebrows!
:)

Today was my older grand daughters first day at "big school" .
I had my video camera to capture the new student in her uniform.
I drove down to the school to film her arrival with mum and dad,
little sister was also there she expected to also stay at school
and was very disappointed to be told she was going to return
home.
What did surprise me was the fact that the school was happy for
me to film in the school and her two teachers posed with the
head for Jeanette to take some shots. Something they admitted
they had never been asked to do before. Jeanette is keeping all
sorts of bits and bobs so that when the children are grown they
will have a lot of memories. Dad picked out a R.C. school as he
wanted some faith teaching, he was surprised to find he and
Vessy had to fill in a statement of faith form and attend an
interview even before the school would even consider putting
Abigail on the waiting list. I rather think they are serious
about the saving grace of God.

I'm house-hunting at the moment. Its tricky and quite
unsettling.
My marriage broke down a few years ago and I have been living in
a friend's "granny annex" since then. This has been great - my
own bedroom/living room, kitchen, bathroom and front door giving
me some sense of independence, but friends next door so I don't
feel completely isolated.
It is now time to move to somewhere a bit bigger. And I'm
nervous.
I missed out on ideal house a couple of weeks ago - it had
somewhere to park the car, walking distance to work, quiet
street in the centre of my little town, and a reasonable-ish
price tag.

Good to hear that you found a good school for Abbie , James.
Those first years are so important.
Plus I feel better than homeschooling and not meeting children
outside the four walls.
Hope you get a bite on the sale of your property SOON.
HH/Mike Hubby and I will pray this morning that you find a nice
house which is perfect just for you. ( and at the right price) I
am guessing you are in England, which part of England? I 'used'
to be in the south.
Hastings/Bexhill. Now 38 years here in Alberta Canada.
Love the England that was...it is a wonderful place to be
from! :)

Thank you, Helen, I appreciate your prayers.
I live in the south of England, not far from Basingstoke,
Hampshire.
England is still a nice place to be - I'm not sure it was better
in the mid-70s when you left, there was certainly lots of
troubles back then. I remember the electricity strikes, dustmen
strikes, miners' strikes and the IRA bombs.
All that is pretty well behind us now (not that we're without
difficulties).
Thanks again,
Mike HH

Hope you find the right House HH, or rather that God will lead
you to it as he led us to ours 28 years ago.
On this beautiful day we've been out and about again today. We
caught the bus for ice creams at Frederick's, a famous local
ice cream parlour, and then on the way back we stopped for a
couple of halves of Blond Witch by Moorhouse's brewery. Both
were delicious.
