Cattle loader

I wired up the platform and it works OK but the train car doors
don't open. If I run the car over a decoupler they open fine.
There's a flat brass piece on the platform that sticks through
the tracks, is that supposed to make contact with something?

I watched a video and see there is a power bar that fits in the
slot, where do I find that?
