| 1121 switch finish | |

| Im new to the forum and just getting back into Lionels. I was | |
| recently given milk crate of older stuff that included a few | |
| 1121 switches in need of a total overhaul. They work but | |
| cosmetically look like junk. Does anyone know what the original | |
| base finish was? What can I buy that will get me closest to | |
| original finish? | |
| Thanks | |

| I'm not sure that I understand your post. | |
| The switches work well, despite being old? A lot of railroaders | |
| would tell you to leave them alone. | |
| Why do they look bad? Do they need to be polished? Are they | |
| chipped and/or rusty? Could you make one oval of track using all | |
| the old tracks? Or could you make a powered switchyard with | |
| them? | |
| You have a lot of potential with those items, so be careful not | |
| to ruin them. | |
