GAZ Coilovers

Hi all,
Going to order some GAZ coilovers, can anyone recommend spring
rates and valving for a MK1 Cabriolet, fast road. The final set
up will be braced, top and bottom at the front, braced at the
rear and with uprated anti roll bars. The car will NOT be
stripped, all standard interior.

Guess I prefer a little understeer, tend to brake hard entering
corners. Not sure how well you can setup a Golf to feel the
transfer for trail braking. May want a little higher than normal
spring rate at the front.
Never tracked a Golf or pushed this car that hard as it was
pretty much straight into the build. It may be best to just
speak to GAZ and take their recommendations???However a lot of
you guys have track / race experience so would appreciate any
thoughts or comment.
Update - Gaz have recommended 250/275lb front and 180lb rear
Thanks guys!

I was going to suggest you ask Gaz, although I'm not sure how
many cabbys they'll have experience of. Was it Dave Lyon you
spoke to?

It was an email reply from Mike (no surname). I will give them a
call before I order.
Thanks,
