| A special thanks to Skip Trace for some exceptional editing | |
| help! | |
| I have been cooking and working this story for a month but it | |
| finally came to fruition. | |
| From the opening: | |
| No one has ever accused twelve-year-old boys of having the best | |
| decision-making skills when it comes to matters of judgement. | |
| Add in boredom and a novel distraction and the chances of the | |
| boy acting reasonably decrease exponentially. Such was the | |
| situation when I was in the sixth grade sitting in my class | |
| pretending to listen to Mrs. Malone drone on about the proper | |
| usages of capital letters. It was on a Tuesday, the seventh of | |
| December in 1971. My best friend at the time, Brent McDonald, | |
| and I were sitting at the back of the classroom near a corner. | |
| Mrs. Malone allowed us students to sit where we wanted so Brent | |
| and I liked to sit where we could fly under the radar. | |
| Told from the point of view of Spencer Matthews about a day he | |
| ceased to "fly under the radar." | |
| Thanks for reading! | |
