Lord of the flies

Hey :) Was watching the movie (the old one) and found this
comment of the actor:
I, Roger Allan, was also in the film claim to fame being when
I was whipped in Jack's cave (two lashes for real for each of
three takes six half-pencil thick welts across my backside.
try doing that today and you'd have the law on you. still, ars
gratia artis.
and:
In fact it was myself. There were two lashes for real for each
of two takes, resulting in six pencil thick welts across my
bottom. Funnily enough, I volunteered for the gig the day
before, and then spent all the previous evening trying to
persuade someone else to take my place.
I can realy imagine how he tried to find an other boy to get the
switch, wonder if he cried.
Here the scene if you dont remember it:

What do you think about it?

The 1963 version is the best version. I wondered if they
actually struck him or not. The angle the camera was positioned
it could have been either way.
Back in the day, boy actors in foreign films were expected to be
naked in the movie at some point and if there was spanking, then
they were expected to get an actual spanking.
Too bad that didn't take hold in American movies and hasn't
remained a constant in films. I am thinking an increase in DVD
sells.

Now you know 2 strokes per take were real ;) I always search
for interviews when there is a spankin in a movie, the newer
movies most of the boys say it didnt even hurted. Too bad,...

In a nice new piece of fan-fic at MMSA, Luxboy has imagined how
things might have been behind the scenes during the filming.
The story is in German, but here is a Google translation into
English: Behind the Scene - Lord of the Flies
https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fmale…
/> Google does the usual dismal job of translating from German t
o
English, but the English version is still readable if one allows
for the occasional passages of nonsense. I liked the part of
the story where Lux imagines some of the boys trading licks with
the switch after the filming to gain an appreciation for what
Roger went through.
The actor, Roger Allan

/>appears to have gone on to a respectable acting career
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0020999/.
Since the 1963 film
version cast unknown boy actors for the roles, one can guess
that the switching scene in LOTF may have given Mr. Allan's
acting career the initial boost he needed for future success.
To imagine the setting behind the scenes, here's a set of photos
taken on location

during the filming.

I enjoyed reading the English translation. ;D
Lord of the Flies, 1963 version, is one of my favorite movies.

I remember watching the move in a 10th grade english class
(after we studied the novel). I sheepishly looked around to see
if anyone was as interested as I was! In the years that followed
I rented all versions of that movie (among others with spanking
scenes) and watched when I had the opportunity to do it
discretely.
