Hello, and nice to see you here at a genuine 'rebel' FREE IL2
Modding.
First things first:
We are primarily an OFFLINE modding site. True, some of our mods
'may' or 'may NOT' work online, but whether they do or do not is
not our main thrust nor concern. We are concerned only with
OFFLINE modding first and foremost. However, we abhor game
cheaters of all types and consider them sorry and worthless. So
if someone is brought to our attention as being a game cheater,
we will look into it (for our on-line brothers) and take the
proper action ASAP. So cheaters or would-be cheaters thinking to
come here to better their online games with our mods---be
WARNED!
Our aim is to help IL2 modders, mod. It's as simple as that. No
power-struggling, no schemes, no back-stabbing, no warring with
other sites or other site admin/modders, no tricks and no lies,
no under-handed deals, no controlling of the game or what you
mod, no 'thinking for you', no holier than thou attitudes that
decide 'who' can mod and 'who' cannot, and certainly no hidden
agenda nor dreams of glory/power. No, none of any of that
bullshite.
If you really want to create mods for IL2, we'll be glad to lend
a hand as we can. However, the catch is that 8 out of 10
'would-be' IL2 modders never create a single mod. Now why is
that? Simple, to be a real modder of IL2 (as in any other thing)
requires study, hard work, self-control, dedication, and most of
all TIME. simply put, 8 out of 10 would-be modders will fail at
one or multiples of those reasons and simply will NOT create a
worthwhile mod, or any mod for that matter.
Everyone thinks they can or want to mod, few will actually do it
(for the reasons listed above.)
Many think modding is easy, fast, and that there is some small,
well-kept secret that once revealed will enable them to churn
out hot mods by the barrel full. And they are completely wrong.
Many mod or try to mod, for the wrong reason (s) i.e. fame,
attaboys, bragging rights, popularity, etc. None of that will
work. For if you are of that mindset you will clearly FAIL in
one or more of the above listed reasons and will produce either
nothing (due to your failure) or your quick mods will be only
turn out to be junk that nobody will want to use after they see
the truth of it. Trust me, that is the way of it. You that do
not see this will certainly see it shortly. LOL!
However, if you mod 'for the good' of the community, and treat
the community that you mod for with kindness, civility and
respect, things 'should' eventually work out for you if you're
willing to put in the effort and do the time.
We're a small, REBEL modding site, and there will be many in the
more mainstream modding community that will probably hate us,
attack us, try to cause problems for us. All I can say to that
is simply to ignore them. Sticks and stones and all that
rubbish. You can only give those sorts power by listening to
their blathering and becoming involved in it. If you ignore them
and continue on with YOUR business, and the business of THIS
site (FREE MINDED MODDING OF IL2) then you'll see that their
power is nothing. By 'not' letting them pull you down to their
level you'll be above them in every way and eventually their
arse will overload their mouths and they'll dry up and blow
away.
They will raise a hue and cry about how IL2 will now be doomed,
and online playing will be doomed and ONLY 'their' control over
modding has saved it so far and every one of those words is a
lie and they know it.
The plain truth is that 'cheaters' have been cheating in IL2
online games for years. LOL! Cheaters knew 'how' to mod before
non-cheaters did, and that's the honest truth of the matter. And
they've continued to mod 'and' cheat more honest people all this
time. And cheaters are just like that, they cheat. And there's
just nothing that can be done for it.
Will allowing 'more' people to know how to mod create 'more'
cheaters than there already is?
NO! Certainly not. After all, keep in mind that the majority of
the players and users of this ten year plus old game are
actually 'honest' folk who have NO intention of cheating. Sure,
no doubt an occasional fool might take the knowledge gained here
to try and cheat online...however, please explain how that is
ANY different from the 'hoards' of friends, buddies, VIP's, and
buddies of VIP's that have been given modding knowledge or
access to modding knowledge already?
Are ALL of those people perfect without nary a cheater in the
whole bunch of them?
Ha!
Get real!
Of course some of them have used their knowledge to cheat, but
even thus has the game vanished? Have people quit playing online
because of it?
Nope!
So clearly you see the problems. But let's let that all go, for
this is a new site, a new day, and a new age.
Now, enough of that and on to the site rules here:
Main Rule Number ONE:
Treat everyone that comes here with dignity, civility and
respect. If there is someone that does not adhere to this, our
ADMINS will handle it soon enough.
Main Rule Number TWO:
No site hackers! No site spammers! No personal attacks! No
attacking or degrading other sites! No open unchecked porno or
profanity. Sure, I cuss like a sailor myself and sometimes use
common, everyday type foul language, lol, however that is NOT
the same as cussing a blue streak with eff this and eff that
REAL HONEST TO GOODNESS "F" words thrown about hither and yon.
Control yourself (or WE will do it for you!)
Main Rule Number THREE:
Share your knowledge (if you have it or gain it) and be helpful
to others when you can. This does not mean every Tom, Dick and
Harry that comes here to BEG to have everything handed to him on
a silver plate must be given what they want when they want it.
However, sharing our information and lending a hand to people
wanting and 'trying' to help themselves is the name of the game
here. Everyone needs a hand sometimes, so remember that please.
And that's it, folks. Pretty simple, eh? And yet there is no
doubt that simple or not there will be unsavory, disruptive
types that will come here and break every one of the above
mentioned 'simple' rules, and then feel outraged when they get
their sorry tails kicked right off this site.
So please, don't force my hand. And all will be well. Remember,
being a REBEL is cool, being a #2 arsehat is not!
Thank you for your kind attention to all above.
Long Live FREE modding!
