Interesting there is no sign of gunfire in second clip. A flash |
|
is at 2.21 on the first one. Maybe a tracer round run rogue! |
|

I agree it is weird the aircrew fly with cockpit open. If I |
|
forget to close it on take off or in flight it ALWAYS rips off. |

The open canopy appearing in recordings is a long-standing |
|
issue. The canopy was closed when Haukka was flying his mission, |
|
but appears open when he replays the recording. |
|
The following is an analysis from Storebror are SAS: |
|
Recording tracks is like playing online (the .ntrk file holds |
|
exactly the same data which would be transferred over net). |
|
It's a well known issue of IL-2 1946 that when one player (here: |
|
you at the time of playing back the track) has a mismatching |
|
"opening canopy" availability to the other player (here: you at |
|
the time of recording the track), either the plane in question |
|
will show "rich mixture" engine smoke all the time or will be |
|
presented with open/missing canopy. The second issue |
|
(open/missing canopy) happens vice versa, when the "master" |
|
(track recording) has no opening canopy available while the |
|
"mirror" (track playback) has. |

This explains why on many occasions flying in planes with |
|
modified 3d (for example, the Barnesy FW190-D), in HSFX and |
|
online, my colleagues saw that my plane always left a trail of |
|
smoke, while my engine was working properly cooled, without |
|
overheating. We have also seen this on online flights with |
|
4.13.4 and modact, where some comrades carried the modifications |
|
of some aircraft, and others did not. |
|
On the other hand, this rarity of open cockpits had already |
|
happened to me before, although I did not expect to see it in |
|
BAT, a BAT to which I have not added anything. |
